I've replaced mine with a twin tone Bosch one from a 2.0 HDi Peugeot 306 and it sounds quality, nice and deep.

Check the connections on the horn you can bet one of them has corroded off

Check the make break contact inside, it may be dirty, my hi-lo horns had that problem, the contacts are under the diaphragm

Twin tone sounds ace! Was on the hunt for a awooooggaaa horn but maybe overkill ha. Cheers dave will get a look at that tomorrow. Do you have to remove the battery to get to the horn without the airbag blowing up?

on my Mav the horns are in front of the radiator behind the grille one either side, may be different on yours

Terrano Horn

On my r3mR had similar problem it turned out to be the connections at the units badly corroded likewise on our old Santa Fe. Ended up cutting off about 6 inches of wiring and putting in strip of wire and connectors. I had bought replacement horns off e-bay thinking it was the units as one made a feeble click.

Binned the old units as the New Horns were a a tad louder but could have saved myself £15 if I had done some basic testing first but as they looked manky thought it was the original horns.
