Since we are all in Boris' lock-up (or lock-down as he so jokingly calls it) I finally got bored enough to have a go, after over 5 years, at fixing my mostly blanked-out odometer.
First mistake: downloaded the instructions from here only to find mine is totally different: all clips & guesswork (LOL).
Second mistake: unit is on the bench now so I had a go anyway (but not so much LOL).
Third mistake: there’s a myriad of clips & I'm relying on intuition (might as well have my eyes shut!).
Forth mistake: not having 3 hands I manage to totally damage the display unit
(air is blue & it's ALL Boris' fault!)...... groan!

So now nothing works as it should, needles have a mind of their own & I'm definitely not a happy chappy. Why-o-why didn't I go down the ducks & throw bread at them instead?

Hence the plea of HELP!!!!!! Can some-one please point me in the direction of working instrument panel that doesn't cost a King's ransom? Luckily (really?) I have 9 months till the next MOT.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you cannot find one, you could always send it down to me and I will have a crack at re soldering the joints, Rick

If you're happy to send me your clocks I reckon I've got enough bits here that I can get your needles going again and try and resolder the joints for you?

I'm in Solihull, I notice you aren't far away in Warwickshire, whereabouts?

You can either drop off and leave with me and I can have a look or you can post to me? I don't have any stock of clocks at the moment I'm afraid.

Thanks for the offers 'solarman216' & 'Banshee' but the digital display is un-repairable. A complete instrument panel seems to be the best bet.

I've just spent the best part of an hour fiddling with the needles & got them in fairly accurate positions. In fact the speedometer reads true at 30 (was 36!) & above now (though not as good at very slow speeds, but I can live with that).
So all-in-all I'm quite chuffed!
The only 'fly-in-the-ointment' (there always has to be one!): the seat belt light now stays on all the time, it used to go out after a few seconds. Short of taking the bulb out (as I suspect the MOT wont like it on) I don't know what to do.
Doubtless someone can advise me, at least I hope so LOL.

If all else fails & a correct replacement doesn’t show up at a reasonable price there is a company on eBay that o/hauls them & gives a life-time guarantee...at a price.

But for the mo I a happy chappy. Thanks very much for the offers of help. It's at times like these I'm glad to be a paid-up member!

There's a workshop download for that mate with the instructions of how to clear it in the quick links at the top of the forum boss.

Just fitted a replacement instrument panel cutesy of Banshee (thanks for that).
So all's well in the world.
