To be honest I did not regard that as being that bad, but also as it is a complicated cast moulding I could not see a method of making it better in the space available with a 3 inch pipe, however I am more than happy with the results I have, the flat spot has gone and it sounds lovely, I have several test places one of which is climbing my pot holed drive every day, most time in the past I needed to select 1st, only with a hot engine could I come up in second, but now is comes up in second no problem at 1100 revs and wants to accelerate if I press the pedal but cannot do that as road speed too high for the rough road, I have to stress this is only a test as on a cold engine I prefer to come up in first with plenty of revs to give the engine an easy time, Rick
I tried the dash cam today to see if the internal sound from drivers point of view was any good, and looks like it could be under the right conditions, so will have another go tomorrow, Rick
Well after having far too many head turns as I go past, decided I needed to tone it down a tad, so got an 18 inch 304 SS straight through muffler, fitted it today and it has taken the tone down a lot, but as it is straight through it should not impair performance, time will tell, Rick
Yeh have to say as much as I liked the 4.2 growl when my flexi completely gave up the ghost, the volume did start to wear after a while, even my mates started commenting that it was too loud for built up areas at night :augie :lol
She's still got plenty growl with a new flexi but a straight through muffler is on the cards :thumbs
