+3 inch shocks fitted

My thoughts on not running bumpstops and the tyre contacting arch/tub are this :

On my truck I have -25 offset rims so even when the axle is at 40 degrees or so, one side fully retracted one side fully dropped, contact is only at top of arch. This would never happen at speed only when traversing ruts and rocks at 1mph, so damage is limited to a bit of polishing off of underseal and nowt to speak of on tyre, this has been the case for me thus far with out bump stops anyhow

Tied to lower cups with welding rod, and the dislocation cones at top

Cable ties just hold the rubber to the top of spring so 99.9% of time are under full compression of spring so no movement

OK so do not know if your +3 allows a slack spring but if it does then with me driving it will break the cable ties and fall out, I am a belt and braces man so would want a good chunk of metal to keep it in place even if the shock broke, but I do like the +3 shocks, Rick

You could easily fab a plate of metal to clamp the spring to the bottom. You can get them pre-made for landrovers.

You are missing the point. The cable ties hold the rubber spring damper on to the top of the spring.

With no rubber and no cable ties the spring would still not come off the dislocation cone enough to fall out.

That's the top and that slides on dislocation cone

The rubber might breakup over time or cable ties might break, but I doubt it, it only comes an inch off the dislocation cone seat at max anyhow, but would not be able to come out

That was there stock, I decided to use it again as its 10mm thick, so more lift and less noise

Is it just the rear you have changed the 3" shocks?
What about the front?
Can you raise it enough with just the torsion bar?

Yes just the rear shocks can be lengthened

Only stock length shocks for front on all jap independent suspension trucks

To lift the front you just wind up the torsion bar, until you have about 10mm gap between top bumpstop and suspension arm, then chisel off the top bump stop as its not needed and u will gain more droop
