Hi,

Why not try to have a good old fashion rally where everyone looks after there own, but meeting up for a annual get together at the same place.

Price of camping is the price the venue charges per night.
(Maybe a good deposit would need to be collect in before hand to get full commitment from members promising to attend).

Communal B,B,Q,
Event shelters as a meeting place, chat when you want type of meet.

Do what you want when you want at cost.

Supply you own power as you would at a caravan club type rally.

Like i have said "JUST A THOUGHT"

Maybe Wicksteed again!.

Any more takers then. Shower block, Wristband system for rides, Charges at cost, No electric but generators allowed, Not next to water but there is a lake near by.

Just a few things to think about.

Mav.

Regards, Mav.

How about a Caravan club style rally field. Only provides the basics but at least its a start. Some are near to attractions too.

when you say basic i assume toilets showers and eletric hook up?
i dont think you can get more basic than that

i agree you dont need much more

No! Basic means, clean drinking water, and a waste disposal point. Anything else is extra.

Some places offer more than basics, some don't, depends on what you want and how much you want to pay. Personally I have to have electrics where ever I go. Showers and toilets are an added luxury.

Maybe a member with experiance of Rallies may be able to point us in the right direction of what we need.

National Rally

Hi Mav.
We are in for what ever date you get.
As we have an old van, we would prefer electric and showers.
But what the hell we can always manage for a few days.
Well I can as long as I have plenty of apple juice

Hello Cosmic,

We will all muck as we have in the past so don’t worry you will get a hot breakfast and a warm pot of tea that’s a promise, We have set a date and a place, so we can now work on all the other stuff.

Mav.

Ok Mav,put me down for a definite,so that's caravan/awning,2 adults,2 kids,dog! looking forward to it!!

Any word on the dates for the northern meet??

Hello Cosmic, Well done with booking the time off work.

As for the Northern meet dates, then are you going to go for the May date and see what commitment there is?.

Maybe it could be worth posting a new thread with the title of Northern / Scottish rally so that theres no confusion with the two dates and meets.

Then it may be possible to strike a date for the Northern meet and then go from there.

Mav.

Can i assume that it is here we are going

Looks good!!

Just that we are off from the 19th July till the 1st of August,so we are going to make a holiday of it,anybody got anywhere else in this area that's worth a visit,i see Rockingham and Santa Pod aren't far away,Alton Towers must be down there too..?

Book a spot for us ,should be o.k. as long weekend and rm don,t alter shift rotation.2adults +dog+frisbeee.Dinky

Good Start Boys (and girls). Yes that’s the one Cosmic.

We have had 3 rally’s there before and the staff and management have been more than helpful in the past.
The only problem we have had was the music in the marquee was bothering the near by neighbours (not that it was loud) but we will next time be away from them in a different camp field next time.

Have just spoke to Wicksteed and he has confirmed the dates are ok and the price per night is £10.00 per night.

The wristbands are £15.00 each per day if wanted or a reduction of £5.00 to £10.00 per day if purchased in a group of more than 20.

We are allowed a generator if needed but this must be turned off at 9pm.

Its a start and i will draw up a list and keep tidying this thread up as we go,

Thank you for your support.

Regards, Mav.

We have campers amongst us and we have had tents before at Wicksteed.

It is a very large grassed area.

There is this year a shower but we have not had this before so i don’t know anything about it, There are 3 toilets, One in the shower area and 2 portable ones outside the shower area.

Hope this helps.

Can i put your name on the list then?.

Mav.

Caravan/Awning,2 Adults,2 kids,1 Dog! May just bring the tent will see nearer the time!!

Thanks Cosmic.
Mav.

wow! that’s a commitment bluebull thanks for supporting us

provisionaly we would love to come too, two adults two kids!

I must admit i did enjoy it at wicksteed despite the rain , i am going to conquer them rowing boats this time

forgot to add caravan and awning and maybe even our old T2 8)

Hello Plank,

We will put your name on the list for now then,

Thank you.

Hello all.

Prices are still the same as posted earlier in this thread.

Wicksteed have confirmed price per night is £10.00.

The wristbands are £15.00 each per day if wanted or a reduction of £5.00 to £10.00 per day if purchased in a group of more than 20.

No other charges to add only maybe some B.B.Q. food from Tesco’s, just down the road.

Nice cheap get-to-gether and a chance to meet some other members.

I think we should have a small deposit paid up front, Can we say half of the weekends site fees.
Example, if your stopping 2 nights £10 deposit and if your stopping 3 nights £15 deposit. Hope this is ok.

Mav.

I think cheap and cheerfull is a good idea, maybe if members even brough their own small generators or made their own arrangments things would be less stressfull all round, keep it simple for the organisers too.

maybe just a small generator for the marquee, if you choose to put it up this time? but keep it all as simple as possible, thats my opinion anyway, feel free to disagree if you wish

yes in the past 3 nationals i have been to the genny has run for most of the day and indeed in to the night only being turned off when told by the site owners, last year we done near on 125l of fuel over the 3 days

as for noise a genny costing £4/5000 is going to be more efficient and quieter than any £200 pound job but that will still be much much quieter than 5 or 6 small personal machines running all together

with dinky on this one let mav decide, and robobone lets see what wicksteed can offer ?
