wilderness at N. Norfolk meet

Hi everyone

Just to confirm that both Jane and I are coming to this (our first) event. Jane is sheepish about joining me - she thinks I'm a nutter for buying the car in the first place and that a load of Mavericks/Terrano's turning up all at the same time at the same place is all a bit weird - so treat her (Jane) gently in case she 'bites' back - but she's a sweetheart really!

Well we assume we'll get to the meet - but as my newly-acquired 'bit of a banger' Maverick has not yet had its clutch problem rectified we are reliant on my improving knowledge of the car's Idiosyncrasies to get us there. I have found that when the clutch pedal fails to disengage, the clutch, & therefore no gears, are available; to overcome this one has to hook one's foot under the pedal, raise it to the topmost point and hey presto the clutch works again! Have now got a clutch 'cage' from salvage & waiting to have it put on to (hopefully) get problem resolved.

Thanks to MAV and many others for all help supplied re the clutch AND seat mechanisms issues!

For anyone who may be looking out for my heap - it is a P-reg
kind of poo-coloured one (shown as "GREEN" on the newly received logbook - but rather browny-green actually - I'd love someone to confirm to me if this is as the dealer told me "Ford's Forest Green").

We'll try to aim for the pub lunch bit, but for obvious reasons doubt we'll be doing any green-laning we'll be overjoyed to get there & back on any roads, green or otherwise!

Take care all!

Hi,

Drive safely those that are joining us at the meet tomorrow.

Its not to late if you fancy a ride out and a spot of lunch.

Mav.

Well, The wife and I are very please with our trip out to the North Norfolk coast and with the recent spell of good weather and a fine Sunday lunch, what more could we wish for.

Nice to meet some more members of the club that I had not met before.

We left home at around 9am arriving just to late for a B,B,Q breakfast with Dinky outside his van as he had just cleared up the last of the bacon.

After having a couple of cups of very nice coffee we drove up to the beach to meet up with the others.

Well talk about being busy , All the villages roads were down to single tracks as everyone decided to hit the beach and had abandon their vehicles for the day.

The ship public house had changed its name since Cameraman last visited it is now called the Hero!. :?
So we decided to head inland where things may be a little more quiet.

We all enjoyed Sunday lunch together and a couple of very cool drinks on such a warm day.

Thank you to those that attended which included, Tenpin and partner, Biffa and Partner, Cameraman and Carole and family, Dinky and Jane.
Apologies from Ernie, Wilderness and Terry and Toad.

We rounded our day off by nipping along the coast to Hunstanton were i had a hour chatting to prospective members on a very big caravan site chocker with very red and sore holiday makers which hopefully some we may see on the site as new members soon.

Thanks again too all and also to the wife for putting up with me talking motors for most of the day.

Regards,

Mav.

P.S. What was that meal you had again Cameraman?….

cameraman had Mozzarella stuffed Chicken breast. I know I was drooling over it.

Thanks Cameraman for organising such a great day out.

Biffs bird Zoe

Hi, Certainly looked good value for money

Sorry you missed out on the bacon buttie Mav,had a nice day out meeting new members ,had a cracking dinner and a good chat afterwards.Andy the ship is at Brancaster.Brilliant weather for the 5 days we were there.Dinky

Just got back from a good week away. Nice to meet those that could come, and sorry to those that couldn't make it, hope you can next time.

Realised the Ship was at Brancaster later in week, but if I'd asked Carole in first place she would have told me so!!

The tiny chicken portion was stuffed with cheese, just that I don't like being served poncey food. Nice big serving of pie would have been nice for me

Did a couple of lanes during the week, most were too overgrown for the Mav so just did odd one as passing on way to or from somewhere. I even let my Daughter in law drive one. Lots of wildlife to be seen, and quite surprisingly an abundance of Hares.

Not be using the van site we stopped on again though, supposed to be a Caravan club CL site (5 vans max) but it averaged 7 vans and even went up to 10 vans for this weekend. Almost no spacing between vans, so not pleased as I don't like the fire hazard bit. We had other vans so close to us that not only could you hear the people in the next van pass wind but you could smell it too!!

Still all in all a good meet and a nice weeks holiday with family.

Hey Andy,
At least the weather has been kind over the last week, As what a bad week you would have had with all the family inside the van all the time.

The awning was fine and was erected at home first and then while away.

Was really surprised what a difference it made that bit of extra space.

Thanks again.

Mav.
