As you all know from my previous post here, my original IP was kaputt on the motorway, and I replaced it about month ago.
After approx. 1000 miles on new pump (from 2004 Terrano) it broke again Quick check showed that there is no fuel coming to injectors, however distribution shaft turns OK.
Both pumps still to go for inspection and refurbishment, so I don't know fault reason yet.
Last month it took me approx. a week to remove the pump, yesterday I've done it only 3 hours - experience is everything!
I already ordered another pump on ebay, it should arrive today and I will fit it tonight.
Last time I simply installed the pump, connected all hoses and started the engine - it started immediately and ran no problems.
However, I wasn't (and still not) sure about correct timing angle. It's controlled by pump rotation along its central axle.
I positioned pump so that 3 threaded pins which attach pump to the engine are in the middle of oval shape holes on the pump.
I assume it's "default" position. Considering I'm driving on 95% WVO, how would you recommend to adjust timing? How to position pump?
Thanks,
Alex
