As you all know from my previous post here, my original IP was kaputt on the motorway, and I replaced it about month ago.
After approx. 1000 miles on new pump (from 2004 Terrano) it broke again :( Quick check showed that there is no fuel coming to injectors, however distribution shaft turns OK.
Both pumps still to go for inspection and refurbishment, so I don't know fault reason yet.

Last month it took me approx. a week to remove the pump, yesterday I've done it only 3 hours - experience is everything! :)

I already ordered another pump on ebay, it should arrive today and I will fit it tonight.
Last time I simply installed the pump, connected all hoses and started the engine - it started immediately and ran no problems.

However, I wasn't (and still not) sure about correct timing angle. It's controlled by pump rotation along its central axle.
I positioned pump so that 3 threaded pins which attach pump to the engine are in the middle of oval shape holes on the pump.

I assume it's "default" position. Considering I'm driving on 95% WVO, how would you recommend to adjust timing? How to position pump?

Thanks,
Alex

once timing marks on gears line up u nedd to look at download manual get a dial gauge take out bolt in the back surrounded be the injector pipes (best done before u put pipes back on ) then with turn the pump clockwise or anti clockwise to get the correct reading on the dial gauge its all in manual did mine bout 2yrs ago and still going ok but long time ago and cant remember it in detail hope that helps

OK, I need to get the dial gauge somewhere then. Are they all standard?
I assume I can use any, as long as it has suitable thread, because manual says:

"Set dial gauge so its indicator points to somewhere between 1.0 and 2.0 mm (0.039 and 0.079 in) on the scale."

Installed and tried new IP today. Engine starts now, but same horrible cracking noise exists.
Mechanic suggested it can be something wrong with fuel injection:
- Injector stuck open or broke
- Lost compression due to blown gasket or leaking valves

Managed to take control injector off, its bottom was covered with 1mm solid deposits, will post photos later. Injector worked OK, to my amateur view, spray pattern looked fine.

In next few days will work on timing adjustment. Terrano manual suggests 0.59, but AutoData - something around 0.26.
Which one is correct? How would you recommend do adjust timing for WVO?

Thank you!

with ur problems with both ip I would look at the quality of ur wvo too much water or fats in it unless u get it free at todays prices id go for svo

I was starting on black diesel yesterday to try the pump. As it was just bought, there is no WVO inside.
