it really doesnt take that long mine came out through the top. taking out and second hand1 put back in tock 5hrs inc setting up with dial gauge:thumbs

I couldn't get out one of 3 bolts holding pump from the front. On the RH picture below, it's one at the bottom of the triangle plate. Couldn't get there with wrench, so had to unscrew and move Steering box (image 2).
However, I didn't touch air manifold despite workshop manual recommends to unscrew it as well.

Should be able to unscrew pump completely tomorrow...

Managed to take off pump yesterday, for that needed to remove vacuum pump installed underneath it.
When turning main shaft, plunger shaft stayed intact, so looks like pump has plunger spring broken.
Any ideas how WVO could affect the spring?

Thank you guys,

1. Day before this failure I used 0.5 l Liqui Molly Diesel Purge - put IP intake and return into bottle an ran on idle for about 1 hour until fully burnt. Could it affect the fault?

2. No, I haven't drained the fuel, but as I have customised and heated fuel supply lines, I know that it's not blocked. I made temporary fuel intake from drum of normal diesel, so fuel supply is definitely OK.

3. Varous sources say that there may or may not be a sensor (I'll check that tonight), but firstly I have a connector which looks like the right one (see 1st photo), and secondly i got this picture from the manual. See, there is a sensor at the top of the engine.

Hmm... I don't know how good lubricant this stuff is, so maybe IP simply ran dry which caused failure in the end?
Thanks for comment, you may be pointing me into right direction.

Usually people put this stuff in into tank, but some suggest running it straight:

"I use liqui moly (lubro moly in other markets) dieselpurge lots of info about it on the net and you can get it on ebay.

Best to use it by sticking your fuel send and return pipes into a can of it (or a few cans combined into another see-through container) and running on it neat until the container is almost empty. Best to rev it up a bit or go for a quick drive.

Most injector cleaners have 2EHN as a main ingredient.
"

However, I must admit I have heard IP breaking after such sort of cleaning...

Thanks to cncfab issue is sorted now, he has sent me a new IP.
Looks like the issue was in broken plunger spring. I plan to send pump for refurbishment and hopefully they will be able to make few photos.

Thanks for your help guys!
