2 switches for what

Got 2 switches on my new to me terrano.one each side of steering wheel below speedo. one with an open padlock tother a car with waves coming down.for what reason are they please.

so have you not tried these switches, if one is central locking then did it work? the other one I think disables the ultra sound sensors in side so if you leave a dog in the car and lock it the alarm will not go off, but I could be wrong, Rick

padlock is central locking, 2nd one switches off interior sensors on alarm..

Thanks all.is there an indicator to say either is disabled. trouble is my curiosity gets expensive cos i have to fiddle.
