So...... Were do I start....

I have been running and working on Land Rovers for the last 10 years.
I have had Patrols on and of over the same period until about a year and a half ago when enough was enough and committed to running patrols full time... Best decision ever....

I'm 27 now and over time I have had a few patrols prior to giving up with Land Rovers.
It started with a 1982 SWB black Datsun Patrol with SD33 when I was 18
then a white 1986 swb Nissan Patrol with SD33
then a silver 1988 swb Nissan patrol 2.8 Petrol
Some years went by and next was a Red 1993 LWB 4.2 Petrol manual Y60
Next was a Black 1991 LWB 4.2 diesel manual Y60 High top which I went to town on and replaced everything underneath ran for 6 months and sold for very little.
Next came a White LWB 4.2 diesel manual Y60 which only had a short period.
Then a Grey LWB 4.2 Petrol auto Y60.
Then came another gap and deciding to commit to Patrols.

I found myself a Grey 4.2 diesel LWB 1994 Y60 online from a car dealer in Derby with a years MOT... I will tell you the story about my baby after...

Since then I have had quite a few more Patrols inc ones bought for my other half to run.
2 x LWB Grey 2.8td Y60's
5 x SWB 4.2 diesel Y60's done various different mods to these.
3 x 2.8td TD6 Y61's
1 SWB 2.8td Y61
1 LWB 3.0 Y61.
1 SWB 2.8td Y60, modded
and 1 1981 Datsun Patrol LWB with SD33.
had 2 Terrano's aswell
Alot of these trucks were sold to friends.

Currently I have my BIG Y60 4.2 LWB and a SWB 2.8td Y60 and my other half is running the SD33 powered LWB Datsun Patrol.

SO the Datsun is a fairly new edition to the family and hasn't had much done yet. sorted all the rattles, replaced rear shocks for gas ones and put some 315/75/16 Mickey Thomson MTZ's on, on 2" offset modulars. Been waiting till this coming week to try and track down or get made some Parabolic type springs with a small lift.

My 2.8td Y60 shorty has been decked out in the back as a wee van, planning to pannel the back windows soon. I have made a custom winch bumper and fitted a superwinch, may change the winch soon though. Lifted it 3" Running 33" AT tyres. Completely removed the EGR, blanked the blow off valve, modified the exhaust for better flow, turned fuel up slightly and goes like a train. Got 2 hella Jumbo's up front and a rear work light. Got Sony USB head unit, 2 amps, Sub and 4 6x9's... Got quite a few more mods planned but will be doing Timing Belt and Water pump next week...

Now on to my LWB 4.2 diesel Y60 starting out standard and being promised it was a good one by the dealer I bought it from turned out to be a rot box...
Have welded full rear arches, rear quarters chopped and welded, chassis chopped off at cross member in front of fuel tank and rebuilt with 8mm wall box with 6mm gussets. Incorporated rear bumper into chassis. Had fuel tank out cleaned back to bare metal and 6 coats of 2 pack John deer Yellow. Made a custom Tank guard from 6mm Plate.
I have fitted a R34 Skyline ballbearing turbo and large top mount inter-cooler with 14" fan underneath. 2.5" Stainless straight through exhaust, EGT gauge and Boost Gauge. Triple core alloy Radiator with twin electric fans. I made a custom winch bumper and fitted a 12V Husky with Bow motor and plasma rope. LED rear lights and small rear work lamp, hella Jumbo spots on front and halo type head lamps. Subaru extra large bonnet scoop.
Made custom drop boxes and fitted +240mm springs (9 1/2" lift) 40" Beadlocked tyres, I have extended steering bars and Panhard rods as required, modded Gearbox crossmember for extra clearance for front prop. Fitted Y61 2.8 axles for better brakes and stronger CV's and 4.625:1 gearing giving equivalent gearing of running 33's on standard axles but running 40's. Replaced every bush with genuine items. Replaced pretty much every axle component so built up as new axles. Fitted AVM free wheeling hubs and LSD on front from back of low mileage Terrano. Dropped front shock mounts by removing front turrets and fitted 14" travel Terrafirrma shocks, raised Rear shock mounts on axle and fitted 16" travel pro cops. Made custom extended bump stops.... And erm some other stuff that doesn't spring to mind just now... Got loads of other mods planned though as money allows....

So that's about all I suppose for now. Other interests include Volvo's and military trucks....

If you managed to get through that ok then well done and I'll see if I can get some photos up...

As a newbie myself I have only been on the forum for a few weeks and I have to say it is both very friendly AND very useful. Buying in to the full membership at a tenner is well worth the investment too especially with technical downloads etc.

Welcome aboard :thumbs
