Hi Dee

I have just purchased a terrano that was not running , the guy i purchased it from said the RAC towed him home after trying various things , ie removed the fuel shut off valve plunger and spring and but put the valve back minus bits removed the wire to the plunger , hence i posted a picture of a wire , Rick lives 2 miles from me and kindly told me where the wire goes , new valve has been fitted tested and rewired
New battery fitted and all electrics checked lights wipers heater motor etc all working fine

So basicly i purchased the vehicle as a project and a challange as its in very good shape no rust and only done 71k only 2 owners and full service history including oil changes every 3k

Before joining this site i checking out sites where people had same problems wont start

Today i have the vechile back together and with Ricks advice am having the Keys reprogramed and confirm the imobilizer is turning on and off

Then hopefully i can call on the help of the nice man down the road in Bexhill to help read the codes and its going to be the one thing that failed and stopped it working

Mind you even the radio works but" no display" but this is fixable and i will sort this myself its only an LCD display with dirty contacts

lastly this little terrano SWB is a well built 4x4 and will keep me moble once the snow arrives

Thanks guys for all your help advice

regards
John

John I think you've got the right idea and spirit to get this sorted, it'll be a great truck once running and I know you'll get there. Have to say I'm not sure the seller was totally truthful but hey ho you've still got a nice truck.

As for the radio if you do open it up and fix it would you mind taking a photo or two as both mine are the same.

Cheers

Until recently I had been feeling a little smug about my radio as the display was okay...

...until recently!

:doh

well its nice to see another local, we are vastly out numbered down here, bit late but welcome to the forum, good bunch on here, :thumb2

hope it gets sorted soon.

I have been very unwell for the past few years and before that I was very active restoring many types of vehicle 6 weeks ago I had a Pacemaker fitted and now feel on top of the world so I wanted a project so I bought a non runner which looked in good shape, what it did prove was the previous owner had all the experts look at it and it turned out to be a simple fix which took no more than 5 mins to get running with help from Rick on the phone its now taxed and on the road

Sorry to ask but this might be a thick question But how have you come to have a Terrano that will not start Have you just purchased it Or has it broke down Or have you had news keys n barel Or has someone been messin with it ????????????????????
