Agreed, it's another reason my son has decided to sell it. The monthly cost of social gaming hit him hard when he quit school and had to pay for it himself :lol
PS3 spec is better sure but I like PC games best. Mind you I'm out of touch since finding this damn site:doh

Call Of Duty and Battlefield Bad Company 2 are the 2 top running FPS now both very good, Battlefield Bad Company 2 better in my opinion though.

the ps3 and the xbox are holding the industry back at the modue to still running on dx9 with the pc running dx11

this year is the year of the pc for games but i would say you will need a quick one

my take on the xbox, it's getting old now and even with the old version now redundent due to kinect (cant fit kinect to the old one) also its over 5 years old

my take on the ps3, it's only good for the ps3 exclusives as every thing else that is bought out for it runs like crap and can keep up with the xbox when it comes to the fps and graphics.

now the wii is just a fad and most dont use them after about 6 months lol

i would be looking at a gaming pc and you can build one for less than a console to run games, but the downside to them is that some games never made it to the pc, but on the upside you have a vast amount of games that will never make it to the consoles from indipendant developers

oh and you can hook up a ps3 and a xbox controller to the pc and run in true hd unlike the 720p upscale of the 2 consoles on the tv and sit on the sofa just like the other 2 but have a better in game experiance also all games are cheaper on the pc due to not having to pay royalties

dont forget, xbox and ps3 are both old hardware now, this is why they are bringing our kinect and all that crap, to keep the units alive untill the next gen comes out, if it ever does!

theres no doubt the PC is superb for gaming BUT, youcant beat the ease of a console and its controller, this is why the xbox and ps3 are the best gaming system you can buy, and so popular.

graphics are superb, even today, Battlefield Bad company and MW are excellent games, i love 'em!

Also PC gaming can be expensive when you first start if you want smooth good graphics.
It helps to know someone upgrading their system as 2nd hand parts go cheap, Although I wouldn't buy 2nd hand stuff from ebay.

I only play PC games, Currently playing BC2 Vietnam. Love all the options you can do. Infantry, Helicopters, Jeeps, Tanks even a boat. I am pretty good at it too, Usually come top on my team.

Used to play call of duty, But it got too repetitive and then they f*cked pc gamers with mw2.

Main one I am waiting for is BF3, Planes will be back. Then I can own in them again.

The graphics on the 360 are crap compared to the PC.

As for keyboard they do a gaming keyboard which is about the size of your hand. Although I have never had problems with my keyboard.

Controllers are just too slow.

any pc bought for today will out perform the xbox and the ps3 a £29.99 graphics card like the 4650 out performs them both and also have the option of a hdmi adapter with sound so you can play on the main tv

any xbox pad will fit and work on the pc and the same for a ps3 unit it is used via the pc's wireless unless you want to go for a wired unit then it is just a plug and play same as xbox/ps3

expense is nothing compared to a ps3 or the complete xbox setup

you have your case and a gfx card like the one above and then you need a plain board with a bit of ram along with say a core2duo total cost £95 with a spec like
2gig of ram £20
core2duo e6300 £20
asus mainboard £15
ati hd4650 £29.99(new)
case £10

that will run anything on the ps3 or xbox

i know this as my kids have that setup, they can play mass effect 2, f1 2010, dirt 1&2, dead space 1&2, dragon age 1&2, bioshock 1&2 and these are the spec heavy games

smooth game play on medium (still better than the consoles)

for the control side i have one of these

and one of these

for games like mass effect that dont have xbox pad support (most do now tho this one dont) i used a program called xpadder this allows me to create any combination of keys with the controller

i have my gaming pc in the bedroom hooked up to a 32" tv via hdmi and havnt touched a console for years :thumbs

their is also one big advantage over console gaming and that is i dont get red ring of death or yellow light of death because i play games on it lol

pc prices have droped over recent years and you can have a nice spec'd machine for less than £300

kinect isnt a bad thing and so manythings can be done with it on the pc

Ok, one point to mention here.

Everyone is going on about how PC's out perform both consoles.

For this you would need to buy a rig well in excess of £500 excluding monitor. I.e. my last one was £1500 with a 22" monitor all built myself.

One thing everyone forgets, game companies specifically design the games to work on the consoles as the hardware never changes (only when the next big model is released and even then nothing drastic) whereas they dont give a rats ass about PC gamers, its a case of lets make it the highest minimum spec we can and then you lot can go out and buy new bits for your rigs.

I gave up on PC gaming for this exact reason, you PC will normally only play games at max graphics for 1-2 years before you need another big upgrade.

any old pc is simply NOT comparable to xbox 360 or PS3, thats crap. if you want to match it, or better it, its gonna cost way more than the consoles, and thats how it has always been. It isnt neccessarily a bad thing, having to upgrade your pc, but to me its a pointless argument claiming the xbox 360 is crap graphics, thats just wrong. And besides, its pretty much a custom PC as it is anyway! and a £29.99 graphics card simply is not powerful enough to match a 360, thats wrong, and i know because i have one in my PC and it cant even managed decent shading, yes it has hdmi, but so does my xbox!

Hmmm. You want to kick back for a few months with a games system.

Personally, I'd say PS3. The blu ray player onboard is still one of the best and still one of the few upgradable players.

Game choice I have to say that from my limited exposure, Xbox has the titles.

I am an infrequent gamer due to a chronic motion sickness issue - I get nauseous watching Spyro or Tomb Raider when others are playing it!

Plus I think the apex of playability was Bushido Blade... Just wish someone would give that a graphical upgrade for PS3 while retaining the play style.

I'm on 360 gamer tag "illy sv650". The reason I'm on 360 is my PC was old, if I was to upgrade it it would have cost a lot of money, It wasn't a matter of buying a PC but future proofing it. If you upgrade say £500 18 month-2years later you need to upgrade again, so I would have been around £1,200, or get an xbox for £200 who's technology which would last 7-8 years Doh no contest. You may say PC graphics are better and yes they may be, but for how long? 30 seconds 2 minutes because once I'm into my game and wasting everything in site Its the last thing I'm thinking of. Roll on Battlefield 3.

they are all glitchy to some degree, I find the 360 not too bad these days, they have ironed out a lot of issues lately, and with this new dashboard things are much smoother and theresa lot more to do on it.
