Gonna be cheaper to convert myself to that stuff I think.

Osborne has hinted at the fuel duty but that is all, at best he'll postpone the next duty rise for six months I think.

well we have the cheapest fuel in europe before the goverment rob us blind:(

Fuel Prices

Scaremongering and those buying fuel will profit from it forward buying crude oil.

Lybia is only 2 % of the world fuel supply prior to the troubles in that country so even if it dried up for a couple of years we in the West would be OK.

More money for the City folk down in London - or Bonus City as I like to call it.
Just before the crash in 2008 I delivered a 350 SLK to a young woman who lived in a flat within the City of London who could not have been more than 28 years of age. She had it fully loaded with extras and paid cash out of her annual bonus. Oh how the other half live eh !

Its if there is a big player like Saudi that interupts supplies that we will have real short term issues. Then it would bring the world to a standstill never mind a few more dollars a barrell of oil. That would cause some price hike probably enough to go to war over.

Agree with what your saying there but the news is also full of other oil producing states getting twitchy too. Saudi has been passing laws today to help prevent uprising.

What ever happens we will be the ones to suffer due to us relying on oil so much.

I reckon we are in for a difficult 12 months as it all bites even harder.

Shit people in power, did I say people? meant to say bastards, so you get what they want to give you, unless you do something about it, me I been doing it for years, I do what I want when I want, never towed the line never will, never paid a paid a parking fine, or a speed ticket, and never will, just like I have beaten the planing council on their own rules, been here on agricultural land for 8 years, and they cannot shift me, I love it, and I love a good fight, forgive me for ranting but today is a very very very very special day, Rick

on a serious note , i know of 2 haulage firms in serious trouble , i can imagine a lot of people losing their jobs , not to mention trouble with food supply etc

just heard that british troops are preparing to go to libya ....... why ?????

short answer, cos this government do not know their back side from their tits, Rick

A good mate of mine went bust last year he had been in hualage for 17 years with a small fleet of about 6 HGV's.

Luckily he has now gone self employed in the scrap precious metal business and has managed to stave off the Bank from re-possessing his house etc but there is a charge on it such that if he ever moves he will loose the lot. It was a Ltd Company but bank had his heart & lungs in the safe marked personal guarantees. Eventually Barclays will get their pound of flesh when he pops his cloggs.

ok heres a idea, how about scrapping fuel duty on commercial vehicles over 7 tonn ? ..... or is that too simple :augie:lol:lol

And like a lot of commodities, there are people making massive profits without ever owning the oil/grain etc.. just by buying and selling these so-called 'futures' which just jacks the price up to the end user for absolutely no good commercial reason other than some f**ker cornered the market in something a few months prior.:doh:doh:doh:doh

unrest in eastern countries is just an excuse to put the price of fuel up. I bet anything, that even with the troubles, fuel could stay at the price it is now and be no bother.

why doesnt this country just supply itself??

Can you use students and chavs as fuel ? Grind em up a bit then liquidize them.
They've got to be flammable considering all that white lightning cider they've drunk.
It would be handy coz I've got thousands of them around here and we could do with culling a few (hundred). I be doing everyone a favour.
