    Your right, I probably am bonkers, but the auto x-trails have lousy fuel consumption so i'm just looking for a way to squeeze every last mile from a tank of diesel. Any advice taken on board.

    Sorry, I was a bit of a numpty there, (my first post) The car is a 2009 model X-Trail. and I was after the info on the "Diesel Particulate Filter" Physical location and removal proceedure.

    Please can someone describe to me the physical location of the DPF. Is it on the down pipe or under the car. What would be the proceedure to remove it. Any help greatly appreciated.
