1995 Mistral 2.7td
Parked up at home and hit by truck which did not hang arround, driver side front.
Damage not too severe at first glance, will have to repair/replace the wing and do cosmetic work on the bumper and arch plastic.
Under the bonnet things not too good, force of impact destroyed...

Not able to drive the Mistral due to very poor brakes I decided to bleed them - and got a huge surprise, the fluid was filthy at the drivers side rear, I could smell it...
damn brakes
did the servo test again and its ok, pumping tho' does improve the breaking some, but then the vacuum drops and I get the buzzer.
checked hoses again tonight, there is a bundle passing over the rocker cover, with a heat shielding wrap, pulled it back and found deep scoring on 2 of...
master cyl
thanks briggie, but doubt that one, fluid not dropping at all - thinking that the overheat could mean fluid contamination or that I should be checking vacuum pipes - car was stored for about 10 years in Japan before I got it!
brakes fading away - mistral 2.7td
new front pads and rear shoes, rears fitted too snug and got an overheat - brakes faded away completely, slackened off the handbrake and solved that.
Now brakes poor in traffic (repeated braking), occasional warning buzzer.
Parked up for about 30 mins with no...
hho in Terrano
anyone actually had any success with this - the theory seems sound and the youtube stuff also looks good.
I have a couple of designs I want to try, the engineering is very very basic - just one thought has prevented me going ahead - the 2.7 tds all have a computer, the hho would...
Ok coolant leak on passenger side, windows steaming up, smelly heater (yes I know I blamed the non existant pollen filter)
Question is: I want to try to put a sealant into the system and see if that does the job and seals the matrix - before I go mad and strip out the whole of the dash, which I...

cabin filter
one thought has crossed my mind - I have seen a few photos of the heater unit that have been on a LHD, could the mistral one need the chamber to be removed to access the filter?
ie: is the mistral unit fitted back to front?
cabin filter
god you are desperate, I can't even get the missus to strip that far - what a mess!!! no not the wife
I am thinking if there is a filter its got to be under the bonnet in the scuttle.
I have joined the NZ mistral forum and placed the question there

"of course it does, its got aircon and all the symptoms of a blocked filter"
"Sorry sir you will have to bring it in and let us sort it...
Air con filter
thanks for the replies guys, yes the Mistral does have air con.
the last component removed was the cross member, which should have exposed the vertical slot in the heater chamber, with a single screw at the base of the cover, but no not here!
The chamber has a central...
after reading the posts and looking at the downloads regarding this filter I went ahead and bought one - japarts 8.99 + delivery 1.99 superfast 24 hours.
only problem is I followed the instructions re glove box removal and so on, exposing the blower motor and the chamber - no problem at all -...
