Are any members experimenting with hydrogen on demand systems to improve fuel economy?

Yes I am building my own, I have not tried it in my Terrano yet, still trying to sort out the problems with overheating of the water, too many AMPS into the water. Must try a PWM to try and sort out problems.

Apparently some people recon they have cracked it and can get 15-50% additional milage from a small application of HHO.

Suggest you look at youtube, loads of like minded people doing the same. We might all save the world if jointly this project along with others come to fuition.

Gary

Hello Gary, we are experimenting aswell. I have looked at youtube and also googled Browns Gas.
The water4gas man seems to think he knows all the answers.
One thing we havnt decided yet is whether to introduce the gas before the turbo or after it.
Matt

It seems to me entry should be before the Turbo as there is such small amounts of gas. I would not have thought the compression of such small quantities of gas would cause any problems.

It would appear that the gas bonds to the Hydocarbons and ensures a better combustion, this is why a gas on demand unit would seem to be worth the investigation. Thats what i have understood.

Gary

Yes that was what I thought, You are running it through the "cold" side of the turbo after all.Everything after the turbo is under pressure which was what we were trying to avoid.
What type of electroliser/fuel cell are you considering building?
Matt

this sounds interesting, any chance of some links?

Try typing HHO or fuel cell in youtube.

you will find me there under hydrogaryb.

I have made one vidio, but it was rubbish, a bit dark. Hoping to post more in the future.

Gary

This sounds great, silly question time!!
I'm no scientist, don't you need a source of ignition for gas,so would that not mean you couldn't use it in diesel,or at least you wouldn't be able to run it completely on gas??
I know i sound thick,please excuse!!
And if you ran it completely on water with no emissions coming out the exhaust.would you be able to pay no road tax!!

fire triangle, Heat, oxy, fuel.

So if it gets hot enough it'll ignite, hydrogen self ignites at 500degC which will come down under presure (pistons) and diesel apx 210degC so i suspect dirty dogs won't run on hydro alone

What are you guys using for the electrolyte in the water, I have tried salt and baking powder and are you using tap water.

or try adding hoax and typing the above into google.

Snake oil pure and simple.

I have only tried salt and bi-Carb, salt gives of chlorine gas though(very bad  )

I have ehard of people using drain claner (sodium Hydroxide)

Good luck with your expeiments, together we could get the fuel costs down!

Also have a look on the Hiclones website as they are talking about a fuel cell.

hho in Terrano

anyone actually had any success with this - the theory seems sound and the youtube stuff also looks good.
I have a couple of designs I want to try, the engineering is very very basic - just one thought has prevented me going ahead - the 2.7 tds all have a computer, the hho would mean leaner running and higher revs, would the puter not compensate and end up overfueling? taking away any economy gains?

Maybe this compensates?
