    so to test them locking properly would i have to jack up both wheels and engage 4wd and turn the drive shafts not just spin the wheels?

    sorted thanks guys, it's lost the clutch fluid so over the hols will trace the leak and sort that. For now topped up & bled so hunky dory in the snow this morning :) cheers & merry crimbo to all

    oh not liking the sound of this one much (cue fingers in ears la la la not listening) hopefully its not gonna be serious but if its the linkage is it easy to adjust, and if its the gearbox tattered how expensive is that?

    Thanks i'll check the fluid level when i get home see if it's leaked. I was going to diaconnect the damper when i changed the slave cylinder but ran out of time :( could it be anything more serious? I don't fancy a big bill round crimbo time :( will know a bit more later when ive had a go myself.

    hi guys, im relaying this second hand as my wife thinks the trucks broke. She cant get 1st or 2nd gear apparantley. i have just changed the slave cylinder and it was fine yesterday but i thought id put a shout out for advice before i get home tonight and drag it into the garage to tinker. cheers...

    bit of an one thie my heater works fine ...but only to the windscreen and side vents. No footwell or centre vents no matter where i put the lever. Any ideas anyone? :confused:

    ok quick update and not sure if its related but the trucks taking a while to start in the morning, don't know if its the veggie or just a sluggish battery or glow plugs? Also i now realise that the truck is a tdi according to the badging so not sure if that makes a difference? Will see what...

    carbon footprint reduction ! he he, bunged in the first 3litres of SVO as a test yesterday, mixed with approx £50 worth o diesel. A bit wimpy i know but so far so good, so upping the ratio a bit over the next few weeks and see how it goes :thumbs

    woo hoo, changed the slave cylinder and bled the system and we're back in business. Bit of a fiddle getting the flexible hose off the old cylinder but all good now :thumbs just gotta keep an eye on the fluid for any leaks but so far so good. Also cleaned out the sunroof drains, didnt seem that...

    yeah completeley on its own, everytime you turn the key the headlamps got washed:lol thought it was a safety feature for winter driving :lol. I'll get the multi meter out and see if i can find a short anywhere obvious if not the fuse can stay out.

    Ceiling wire here we come, something else to add to my little list, i manged to cure the headlamp washer, it was washing everytime you started the engine. Fuse out job done :thumbs

    Ok my second problem is a bit odd, the roof lining is wet above the passenger door and i can hear water sloshing! im guessing the sunroofs leaking but i cant find where from, also the footwell is damp. Do you think it could be the drain blocked? it sounds like the whole of the A pillar is full...

    ok it died on the way home the pedal was on the floor and when in gear the clutch was still engaged so it was creeping forward!! Almost impossible to change in or out of gear. The pedal feels really loose like no resistance. The recovery guy seemed to think the slave cylinder was the culprit, do...
