Problem is the burdon of proof. They could say they never noticed and it could have been like it for years. I have been running around in the terrano since the incident with no reccurance, baffling. Cleaned the old sensor up yesterday as it was a bit mucky. see what joy that brings?!

I did yes, but no joy. WOndered if engine management light should come on when i first turn on ign. But it doesnt come on at all. Wonder if there is a fault, but EML is not working.

Thanks again to all. Tried to get a code this morning, but even when I first turn ignition on (engine off) I have no engine management light? so have nothing to display fault codes! Will have to try to get to the CKP I think and give it a scrub. Funny though because pulls fine and idles...

Yeah, Its strange cause it did the same journey on Saturday, no bother. Then today it starts playing up. Only difference is weather, was raining for the journey today, wonder if broken cable is getting wet and shorting? Would sensor not give me the dreaded eng man light?
