Yeah posted them the wrong way round! Doh.

Got the part this morning.................wrong one :( has a male connector on the end. P/N 0281002191

I need the one identical to your picture. Do you by any chance have the part number? Is it Bosch?

part No is 259777f400, theres two available for our truck the last part from F being the part that is different, but F400 is for the early Jan 1997 vehicle, and i think the other part is for something like october 97, either way Nissan is the place to go and im sorry to say its bloody expensive!

i saved a bit of money by saying "if its right, i know two other guys from the club that need one ill send them to you if you knock me some money off"

I might have missed something as I have not read all through the thread, but on mine the fault code comes up on the alarm light on dash under windscreen, not the one on the instrument panel, and it is an led, not likely to blow, Rick

But mine is a 2001 truck?

Rick, will give that a whirl.

I think you should be knocking on the door of the person who sold it to you if they removed the warning lamp. There are laws that cover you. Especially if they have done something to hide a fault.

Problem is the burdon of proof. They could say they never noticed and it could have been like it for years.

I have been running around in the terrano since the incident with no reccurance, baffling. Cleaned the old sensor up yesterday as it was a bit mucky. see what joy that brings?!

ok...not sure what year the ckp sensor went to, im sure its 97 onwards though.

as for giving it a clean, that could well have helped, but id certanly be trying to get those fault codes read somehow....

Gonna do one of 2 things. Either swap the bulbs in the dash or get it to a garage.

Strange been driving and no probs, turn sidelights on and cuts out. Restart all runs ok then bunny hops down road. Turn side lights off all is good for rest of journey and entire journey back

This is doing my shed in

Ok dash came out. Looked at eng man bulb and had been covered in black stuff, i can only assume paint. Scraped it off.

Fault codes now read and given the following numbers: 11, 43, 47

So looks like I need Fuel injection pump sensor, APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) sensor and guess what..............CKP.

Thanks to all you guys for your help, without it I would have been stuffed.

Parts will be ordered tomorrow, unless one sensor can lead to the malfunction of another.

Thanks again.

i had those codes. do the ckp first. when i did mine, the APP sensor went and the fuel injectionj pump sensor only ever comes on sometimes IF i stall the car, then clears i do it and stays clear untill the next time...

ckp fault can cause havoc with the ECU, cause it affects timing, starting, injection etc etc...

Thanks Clivvy, you have been a real mate over this one. If you are ever down this way I owe you a decent pint!

No chance of me stalling, its an auto! ha ha

Phoned Nissan this morning, cant find part. So gave part number........delay........well it just says sensor unit. So I say "OK get it in and I'll come and have a look" to which I get, "oh no sir you pay for it up front" so in other words I have to buy a part blind!!

F***ing nissan.

try another dealer mate, i had the same issue. the only ones that could get it for me, was Nissan Halifax (lightcliffe) they were very helpful.

They have found it, just got to go and pay for it, £188 plus VAT GULP.

I have been having the same MIL light and stalling problem as Shaun AFC.
Checked the ECU code and sure enough---- up came the dreaded 47.
Will live with it for a while.
Am VERY interested to know how you get on Shaun.
Had a quick look for the crank sensor but couldn't readily see it. Perhaps I should have gone to Specksavers

If you take a look at post #41 on page 3 I have posted a couple of pics of its location, that should help you find it. Look between the pulleys on the front of the engine.

Getting the part tomorrow so fingers crossed it does the trick. I would have lived with it too, but not risking it with my family in it.

good luck, I hope it at least solves the stalling problem (im sure it will, myself and jim had this very same issue earlier this year)

Its a heck of a lot of money to spend I know, but the ECU is telling you theres an issue, so youve made the right move to address it. I put up with it as much as I could untill, like you, it just kept stalling on me, especially when slowing to a junction. When you fit a new one, the test is to clear the codes ()see the downloads) and go for a very long drive. The CKP goes faulty WHEN WARM, something to do with the magnets inside, plus age, are less reliable when hot-so you need to get the engine up to working temp plus a good 5 miles or so of normal everyday driving. First time I took mine out I drove up the road a nervous wreck, but it was perfect and I was so relieved, and its been perfect ever since.

The days of simple mechanics are over, the days of annoying electrical problems are here, BUT, you found the problem, and with luck tomorrow, will have fixed it end of story.

My fingers are crossed that the other codes will clear too.
