Ok, have fitted a 'new' alternator to the terrano. Engine on and only get 11.8V across the battery. To me that says alternator is duff, wondering if anyone knew any other tests I could do? Checked continuity of both earth and live to the alternator, no resistance in cabling so a good circuit...

Ok all checked and tight and continuity good. Put battery back on and starts fine. Checked battery voltage ign off and get about 12.99 volts. Turn ign on and it goes down to 12.2. I therefore summise that the alternator is knackered. Trying to get a new one is proving interesting! Might be...

Ok so the truck bites me in the arse again. Sensor has cured cutting out problems but now it wont turn over. Tries to but wont, dials on the dash go a bit bananas. I am hoping this is low battery syndrome? Help yet again please. I am seriously thinking of chopping this in now

Phoned Nissan this morning, cant find part. So gave part number........delay........well it just says sensor unit. So I say "OK get it in and I'll come and have a look" to which I get, "oh no sir you pay for it up front" so in other words I have to buy a part blind!! F***ing nissan.
