well, its always a bummer when you buy what you believe to be a reliable tank, and it turns out to be a faulty money pit. From what I can see youve got a nice example, with just some age related issues to sort. clearly the previous owner/s covered them up (by covering the bulb?), but im sure youll get them sorted and love the truck again. could happen to any car/4x4, its the risk we all take when buying used and this fault youd never have known about when buying (as I didnt) but you'll learn and if anything, gain knowledge from this rather expensive lesson!

Well fitted it this morning and it cleared the 3 fault codes I had.

Then showed up code 55. Was a little upset with this and had a 5 min rage. Came inside and checked what was wrong with the truck now..............................

CODE 55 - No Fault Found

The relief was somewhat close to orgasm! Ha ha.

Ok so the truck bites me in the arse again. Sensor has cured cutting out problems but now it wont turn over.

Tries to but wont, dials on the dash go a bit bananas. I am hoping this is low battery syndrome?

Help yet again please.

I am seriously thinking of chopping this in now

Forgot to add, was running like a dream, went to Tesco this morning and all was well, we to start at 2pm and problems, sounds strange like it cant turn over but is lazy trying. just about manages what sounds like one complete turn, then speedo etc start going up and all goes mad!

If anyone knows whats wrong and wants the truck PM me.

have you tried to bump it ? did you have any lights on the dash when you got to tesco's ?

sounds like it could be the battery dishcharged

2 reasons for this is the alternator wasnt charging properly or you left somthing on which has drained it (could be bad earth)

hello there, have started a new thread on this as this one is a bit all over the place!

Sorry for the confusion, got back from Tesco fine, its just this avo problem started.

Yeah first thought was battery or alternator, will have to get a multimeter on it when i get on off a neighbour.

Strange this is battery shows charged when connected to my battery charger????

Reconnected and has started so totally confused. I think I may need an auto elec to take a look

I have been having the same MIL light and stalling problem as Shaun AFC.
Checked the ECU code and sure enough---- up came the dreaded 47.
Will live with it for a while.
Am VERY interested to know how you get on Shaun.
Had a quick look for the crank sensor but couldn't readily see it. Perhaps I should have gone to Specksavers

Didn't live with it for long. Had two scarey stoppages in country lanes at night:augie
Soon got new sensor and fitted it. Seems to run much better in all modes now. Gave it a thrashing on motorway; everything good and warm---no problems---seems to be fixed---fingers crossed:thumb :thumb2

Thanks for the pics Shaun . would never have dreamed something could be stuck so craftily out of sight. Lost some knuckle skin gaining access but engine oil seems to be antiseptic so all healing well ;)

Bank balance somewhat depleted but hey-ho---it's only money :nenau

really glad to read the ckp sensor sorted that particular issue, and see what i mean about it clearing the other codes? same thing happened to me! its a lot of money, and a lot of stress finding the fix for this issue, yet when its done its so worth it!
