yes the maf of the T2 is same part number as on maverick, took on road test this evening running nice with no problems the maf i took off has been causing a lumpy start in the mornings so i will see if the replacement is better tomorrow.

Ok - Just put in a replacement Maf from a scrap T2 i have and Guess what !!!! it revs up to 4300 with blips or blemishes need to road test if i have any problems i wll get back . Thanks again to all your posts it all been very helpful. regards Mav4xr

Cleaned the mesh on front of housing, took out sensor cleaned off soot on wire with small screw driver being careful not to damage then cleaned with tissue . i have done this procees many times with no problems in the past- it's has foxed me this time round, Or is the Maf dying

Is there a mini filter on a Tdi ? I thought they were on post 98 models ? I may be wronge though
