Total Off Road back issues ?

If anybody has the last couple of years of TOR , I'd be grateful if they could have a flick through them for any articles on the Nissan Patrol . Just started buying it again after a long break to find they are using a Y61 for their roadbooks . Looks like they have done a few jobs on it whilst...

    3 litre t2

No , it's on the ZD30 engine up to and including 2002 . There is lots on it on the Aussie patrol forum , but I don't know if the T2 uses it in the same form . Not noticed many UK complaints but we have a relatively small number of Patrols .

    Insurance Question

I wonder how many of the other big insurers would actually honour their policy if you tried to make a claim for green laning damage ?

    Max tyre size on Y61

If you have a pic of the tray you made and some fitted pics that would be great . I don't want to go too extreme and I'd prefer to keep the existing front end and not have to fit a winch bumper . I understand TOR magazine fitted a custom mount to their Patrol , but I notice they have a winch...

    Max tyre size on Y61

Yes , I'm on the Aussie site . I try to keep an eye on the new daily posts for the Y61 but the search facility doesn't work too well and there is just too much info to wade thru ! I'm coming to the conclusion it won't be worth changing tyre size at the present . It certainly won't increase...

    Insurance Question

I know it depends on your age/address etc but my quote was £321 and when I phoned up to renew I asked them to recheck for best price . With no alterations I got it for £288 . It's always worth asking if they can do better . Not sure the ever give you their best price straight off !

    Max tyre size on Y61

Cheers Dave , I reckon 32" would cause no problems , but I think I would have to go 33" for it to be worthwhile . Even then I'm not sure it would be worth spending the money for what is effectively an extra inch of clearance ? Have you got any details of your custom winch fitment ? That might...

    Insurance Question

I've been with L/V for several years and have never been able to find a better quote come renewal time . They seem pretty relaxed about 4x4's and modifications . I've never had to claim which is the acid test ! I wouldn't expect to be covered on a private pay and play site and on a green lane...

    Max tyre size on Y61

Yeah , I've seen Dadbas truck on here . It's well sorted but I'm not looking to take things that far . Mine is pretty capable so far but the tyres look a little small IMO . I think the ones that are on equate to about 31" so I'm hoping for 32 or poss 33 without extra work . Hopefully the BFG's...

    Max tyre size on Y61

What's the max size of tyre I can run on my Y61 without extra mods ? It's got the standard alloys ....anybody know how wide they are ? Stock tyre size was 265/70/16 but it's got 275/7016 BFG AT at the mo' Previous owner changed suspension to OME so whilst not lifted it is a little higher than...

    1-4 for a copy...

CB shop told me SWR was not needed these days and I have to say that I've had my rig in several different cars now with no problem . I bought the slimmest Midland I could find with a magmount and springer aeriel and just velcro the rig to the transmission tunnel and plug into cigarette lighter...

    wales monthly meet for febuary

These seem a bit expensive for what you get (£260+) but a darn site cheaper than a winch and could well have got you out of there ? https://www.maxtrax.com.au/home
