    Boot carpet removal

That's what I did with mine. The bolts can be a right git to remove as the ends rust up. With the slits you can remove the carpet in 2 mins.

    Commercial back to seats

This of course would somewhat curtail the playing of "cow and horse cricket" and "I Spy with my little eye" for the rear passengers :D

    Commercial back to seats

One thing to consider would be letting the insurance company know. They have different rates for the 5 seat and 7 seat so I guess they would also have different for 2 and 5 seats. Makes sense less people involved if there is an accident.

Replacing head gasket - parts questions

Funny that!! My other car is a 2L 130TDCI mondeo estate. It cost buttons and has now done lots of miles. Flywheel started to break up at 100K miles pretty much as expected. Garage replaced it and clutch for £800. Apart from that 3 yrs of cost free motoring. The Terrano. Well that is a bit of a...

Replacing head gasket - parts questions

The Terrano has run fine since the new head. It did develop an oil leak but that was a bad seal on the rocker gasket that the garage sorted. I too had a dilemma but as the car was cheap when I bought it I decided to take the plunge. The labour figures ETC sound about right. Don't bother with a...

Replacing head gasket - parts questions

3 Litre head Hi, Sorry to hear about your problems. I am afraid I had the head go on my 3 Litre Terrano at the start of the year. Hoped it was a gasket but in the end when the head was pressure tested it had two cracks in it. The cracks did mask the problem as until engine was hot and under...

    New Armrest

Armrest Looks very Good!! Funnily enough I have always found it a bit strange that the box cover is so far back and so low. Lots of arm rests for sale on Ebay but which cars armrest would require the least modification??? How about a sliding one???:naughty

    oil leak HELP

Leaky sump Seems to be a bit of a common problem. My sump went porous and was so patchy I didn't want to fix one bit for another to leak in a few months. Got a second hand sump that was sound which I cleaned primed and Hammerited. Got the garage to replace it when they put the new head on for...

    water getting in

Had to do the same on mine. Actually cutting the carpet makes more sense as you can remove it in seconds rather than removing the bolts which are a git. Can now take it out if I am going to be carrying anything messy (like the kids;)).

    Just back from France

Hurray !!! The good news today is that it is fixed. :clap The local garage couldn't get any sense out of Nissan so have used HP piping and replaced the pipes. they have also re-routed them away from the fan. Cost £100 for the pipes oil and labour but has saved me a very messy job. Have driven...

    Auto box cooler pipes

Hi, In a post below I mentioned that on way back from France one of the pipes for the oil cooler got worn and burst. Don't suppose anyone has got one of these I could buy off them. It is the two pipes that run up the right hand side of the rad fan up to the gearbox oil cooler that is infront of...

    Just back from France

Holy Pipe Well I have had a look in the daylight and the verdict is in. Auto box oil cooler pipes run around the side of the rad fan and they had come loose from the stupid plastic clips that hold them in place. One had rubbed against fan and has a hole. The terrano is specced to be able to...

The white smoke was the fluid burning off on the exhaust. It was quite spectacular whilst it lasted!!

    Just back from France

Have just spent 2 and a half weeks in France with a 1.7 ton caravan and my 3L auto terrano. Drove 2150 miles without any bother then four miles from home lots of white smoke out of the back. Pulled over and lots of fluid dripping out of bottom of car. Was a bit non plussed as oil, water, brake...

    3 litre head and Sump

Will have a look at why the pictures cannot be accessed. I am a fully paid up member so don't think it is that. I am waiting with interest to have a good look at the sump when it is taken off my Terrano. I suspect the leak is from around the seams which do seem a bit vulnerable.
