Hi, I have spent many an hour in Atherstone waiting to get into Aldi depot and tipping 50 odd euro pallets of salad myself and collecting clean trays from around the corner

    In cylinder video

Sorry Jace, I didn't read your post properly, thought you meant the piston moved quicker on exhaust

    In cylinder video

Wot? The piston is connected to the crankshaft by a con rod, the other con rods connect to the other pistons and other journals on the crankshaft, the crank therefore cycles ALL the conrods and pistons at a uniform speed. If one piston moved faster than the others it would cause an inbalance in...

    Auto Hubs

Mine did this often, I found out by jacking car up on front end that the passenger side autolocker was stuck in the locked position, the forward movement of that wheel on the road caused the diff to turn the drivers side shaft backwards (thats what open diffs do) as the drivers side shaft was...

    insrument gauges failure

I would't go the new route just yet. It's probably a supply problem, first thing to check is the voltage stabalizer, usually plugged in the back of the instrument panel pcb board. Looks like a mini flasher unit

How long until oil pressure light goes out?

My t2 has done 160K now the oil light takes 3or4 secs to go out in morning so I wait until it been out a good 20 secs before pulling away 10/40 oil, last year I tried 20/50 oil the light went out straight away but top end noise was there for a good 1 min so changed back to 10/40

    Can you believe this????

I once pulled a 17 ton truck fully loaded out of a drainage ditch in a dirt lane I hooked a chain to truck rear axle and as I had no towbar on a swb landrover wraped the chain with a D link around my back spring hanger. Selected low box 1st gear and slowly pulled truck up the bank to tha...

    OIL CHANGE

Exactly my point, Nissan don't make filters, they either get one made by a filter maker say FRAM for thier purpose or use one that already exists, usually one thats made for summut else. In my days as a plant fitter some of the Lister diesel engines used the same filter as a Ford escort 1300 or...

    OIL CHANGE

Thats why then, never ever bought a filter from main dealer, don't belive in paying £20 for summut they pay £3 for. I only buy things I can't source anywere else

    OIL CHANGE

Where do you get filters from. I get from local motor factors, we are on the same item aren't we? Copper washer for the drain plug. Most filters fit more than one vehicle, and all the vehicles it fits won't have the same drain plug. Maybe the gen Nissan ones have a washer?

    OIL CHANGE

Calimero You don't get a sump plug washer with an oil filter

    OIL CHANGE

Thats about the best thing to do, there are 2 sizes pre 96 and post 96 It's not actually a washer as such it's a hollow section that flattens when you trap it between the shoulder on plug nut and the sump pan. I bougt one 3 years ago about 57 pence I think it was, but have changed oil dozens of...

TOURING CARAVAN EXTRA ROAD TAX/RADIO DEVON

Thanks Rustic, As Iv'e said before I'm all for saftey and even a compulsory test. But I am all aginst the notion that the work required to meet that saftey standard has to be done by a garage. The mot for cars and trucks works well now even more so with the police number plate recognition...

TOURING CARAVAN EXTRA ROAD TAX/RADIO DEVON

Yes Ian thats exactly what I mean, If you have taken the trouble to do all that then I don't see aproblem taking the trailer (NOT just caravans) then a yearly test and an issue of a road worthyness cert wouldn't be a problem I'm not refering to gas appliances or even electrical (mains)...
