It would also be a good idea the check the diffs (mainly rear) and possibly the gearbox's for water contamination..

Also not that you may just get stuck, also you may break down and often there's no phone signal and most recovery firms wont recover you from a green lane... I mean would they even get a 7.5 tonner up there? :lol: Don't do that many lanes really but do, do some :wink: Am more a quarry person...

ah... what the bloke on the phone said "I was insured to tow but only up to 24ft in length" So I suppose if I was towing a 26ft van and had to make a claim for any reason my insurance would be void.

Thats what i mean but (mine) only covers for it been upto 24foot long. Which is rather long, but i've seen a good few caravans that are upto 26ft long..

well mine tells you to stop at 300mm away, which is ok for towbar and spare wheel.

When I took out my motor insurance the other day, we talked about towing he said it covers me to tow upto 24ft well some caravans are longer than that. Wonder if people ever check there insurance :?: or does the caravans own insurance cover it :?:

Mines got the 4 bolt towbar and it works ok with it. yours the same?

Yeah same here both gear and trans box filler plugs wouldn't move with a 2 foot breaker bar and a bar on that, chickened out in the end before something broke... I filled it up to via the gearstick, and the trans box I removed a sensor/switch..
