The first time I changed a UJ, I ended up needing a new prop - not cos its difficult, but cos I'm an idiot..... I pressed the bearing cup in too far to get the first end out, and mangled the yoke.... take it slow....

    My new terrano problems

I'd check the guard at the front of the rear prop - mine squeaks, particularly on corners. I was worse before i 'moved' it with a hammer :D

    I nearly crashed today :(

Waiting to turn right at the lights, 2 cars coming towards me, no filter on my side. Both cars slow down, for some reason I thought it was safe to go, then realise as I am committed to the manoevure, that there is a crash about to happen.... Foot hard to the floor, cue lots of wheel spin, and...

'Travellers' in the estate - how can I disable the Terrano?

So, about 30 caravans turn up in the night, along with the police helicopter, and pull onto the local recreation ground. There are now kids everywhere on bikes, and vans touring the streets. The locals will not be pleased, the cops know this, and are stationed all over the place.... Any ideas...

    recall uk

This would be the recall thats affecting a lot of makes, including Toyota (who I work in a garage for) It involves removing the top of the dash, to scan the barcode on the airbag, and replacing the ignitor if necessary. In Toyota, it takes a few hours to do....

Knocking from one of the gearboxes

quieter than a mouse today, which is odd. Then, got home, turned the air con on to see if I could provoke the noise. Knocking noise started, disappears if clutch depressed. If I turn the a/c off, the noise continues (with clutch pedal up). Rev slightly with a/c off, no noise. A number of...

Knocking from one of the gearboxes

If my week wasn't bizarre enough, my 2 week old (to me) 3.0 now has a knocking from the box :( It goes away if I dip the clutch in neutral, but I can't really hear it when driving. My thoughts? clutch and flywheel :( and I bet its dual mass....

Speeding fine on the way :(

To top off a crap day, involving 5 hours in A&E with my wife after a door fell on her head, I got zapped on the way home at midnight! I pulled up at the lights, to go straight on, when a yoof on a hairdryer pulls up in the right hand filter lane. Straight ahead go green, filter stay red, and...

    MOT

According to the MOT testers at work, the new Fail doesn't supercede or invalidate the previous Pass, technically. The wording on the Fail is vague too... That doesn't mean its okay to drive a Failed vehicle tho - as Rustic said - you're knowingly driving an unroadworthy vehicle. However lots...
