    Cooking Oil

I've picked up the 2500 litres info from reading some links provided on various forums & websites. My understanding is that you can, as an individual, "produce" up to 2500 litres of biodiesel or SVO - and the act of purchase of SVO and putting it in a tank is itself "production". Seems bizarre...

factory fitted terrano radio cassette player

What year etc vehicle is it going into? My 2001 Terrano used an adaptor bought from a local in car entertainment specilaist shop, think it was autoleads branded - works a treat. http://www.autoleads.co.uk/ you can find a local dealer and see what they can supply.

    Lumber Surport

My missus hates the seat in the T2, unless she has an extra back support, she describes something like a bar pressing her lower back - and to be fair, on the few times I've ridden as the suicide jockey in my own T2 there is a big difference between the drivers & passenger seat in terms of...

    where can i legally drive

Wasn't there some criminilisation of tresspass when the Police & Criminal Justice act came into force in the 1990's? More to do with the surge of new age travellers etc IIRC, but I do recall being told by a local park ranger that mountain biking down a certain local track could result in...

    wierd smell

Replace all the run off hosing first, some are less visible than others under the intercooler but they still perish.

    Cooking Oil

I know biodiesel strips the dinodiesel varnish from the lines etc, and can block the filter, I think the problem with SVO or WVO is the ability for it to transfer more water soluble debris or even bacterial growth from the tank through the lines and block the filter.

    Cooking Oil

Tesco online lists 3 litre bottles of vegetable oil at 78ppl, interestingly they have litre bottles of soya oil for 80ppl, and there is some info on the web that suggests soya oil would be better than some of the other choices.

    Roof racks ?

Just re-reading some posts and I've seen your query about clamp on bars, and whether combining a 3 door & 5 door kit would work. It should, if you used 3 cross rails, the front mounting on the two front door apertures, then the mid rail & the rear rail mounting as per a 3 door, with the mid...

Bargain oil draining device for diffs etc.

    where can i legally drive

Some reports on Difflock etc that S59's have been applied on what is relative hearsay, so no real weight of evidence, just XXXXXX was seen on XXXX road on XXX date. Some people are relying upon GPS trails in programmes such as memory map to prove route taken, speed driven etc, in case of any...

    where can i legally drive

Wouldn't be criminal tresspass, it would be dealt with under one of the traffic regs, section 59 (I think) that means vehciles can be confiscated & crushed after 2 warnings.

BBC revels in 4x4 bashing NCAP Results

Airbag, could happen on any vehicle, that isn't a 4x4 issue. But in terms of occupant safety, yes, probably likely that a 4x4 doesn't have as good passenger safety as a smaller car. Some of you may have seen this before http://www.renault.co.uk/Safety.aspx OK, its a reno vs disco, but its...

Bargain oil draining device for diffs etc.

I presume that this is meant for filling diffs, as I find the easiest way to drain them is to take the drain plug out??? I use a length of hose & a funnel to replace diff & gearbox oils, hose into filler, run it out & raise it up, funnel on end, oil in. OK, slow to run in, but I'm sure in terms...

    Engine oil/gearbox oil

Changed my gearboxoil at the weekend, came out brown & very runny, no water contamination just basically old oil. Refilled, but for some reason 1st & 2nd are a bit clunky from cold, fine when warmed up. Probably removed some rubbish etc that was holding it all together!

    bio diesel

I've always found that my terrano runs well & returns good MPG when running on the cheapest french supermarket diesel - I've often wondered if it is becuase of the BD content. Interestingly I've seen a lot on some forums about using anti-gelling agents in biodiesel, indeed one local potential...

    Braking system, what type pads?

Both right guys, was the Lucas type pads, really easy job to do as well. Saved a bit of cash in terms of labour charges compared to getting them done at the service in a week or two.

    where can i legally drive

If you know what council covers the area you are lloking at, then they should be able to tell you if a route you identify is legal or not. On an OS map, the most obvious routes that may have vehicular status are ORPA's and BOATS, if you see one of these on a map then before you drive it you...

    Braking system, what type pads?

Thanks, at least with an online resource I can look and see what I need at home, instead of having to take the pad elsewhere.

    Another question, Diff lock.

Re: re hi No reason at all to use high 4 when towing unless you are pulling off a grass field. You're the second person who I've heard recently has been advised to tow in high 4, some people seem to think that 4wd is a "must have" for towing - it isn't, but the weight of a 4wd makes them...
