    Wheel Spacers (T2)

Is the fitting of fitting wheel spacers classed as a modification for vehicle insurance purposes. Seem to remember reading somewhere that it is :?: Asked my insurers about it but they said they would have to consult their underwriters. That was about two months ago---the silence has been...

    Annoying noise from boot area

Hi Quarryman, (and any other rattling good club members) Found a LOUD source of back end rattling today. Comes from the back door restraining bar. The one which CHOPS YOUR FINGERS OFF if you're not careful. SEE THE WARNING NOTICE PUT THERE BY NISSAN Don't recommend doing this on a very windy day...

    Annoying noise from boot area

To "tighten" my back door I just loosened the two large cross-head screws which hold the striker plate (U shaped jobbie), pushed the plate towards front of the waggon then tightened up VERY tightly using a square shafted cross-point driver with a spanner on the shaft to assist. The plate still...

    Annoying noise from boot area

Had a lot of rattles from that area, still have some but only over very rough surfaces. Worst offender turned out to be a padlock hidden under the spare wheel cover; it secured the wheel--anti theft wise! Another was badly fitting door--cured that by adjusting door locking bracket . Two down...

    Heater matrix replacement

Hi Charlie I was loosing coolant slowly and saw feint antifreeze stain on passenger side carpet. Couldn't see any leaks around engine. Suspected heater matrix leak. Bought large tin of Radweld. Got engine good and warm, coolant level was down to min mark, poured Radweld into coolant reservoir...

    Oil Change

Did my own engine oil change a few weeks ago. Expected to see lovely expensive golden oil which went in show up on dipstick but after a few minutes running it was l like I had never done a change. It did "Drizzle" off the dipstick looking a bit oilier though and engine sounded better.

    Roof Rack mounting

Being a bit of a thicko on this subject I wonder about the loading on T2 roofs. First off; I assume that the factory fitted roof bars are those which are mounted to the roof longitudinaly and any other roof bars are those which clamp to these and are positioned across the roof. If all that is...

Removing plastic cover below terrano screen.

With all due respect to rag1873------I can't understand why the need for extreem care when "prising" the grid away from the windscreen. When I removed all the screws and plastic fixers then took mine off the only contact between the grid and the windscreen was a rubber strip which was merely...

Removing plastic cover below terrano screen.

Hello harajack and another welcome to the club. I had a forum article going on water in passenger footwell, this may give you some clues if your motor is anything like my model. I think it's worth looking it up. The little plastic "rivets" are like a rawlplug with a plastic insert instead of a...

    Lost the plot / diagram.

Thanks for all the speedy emails, pics and help folks. Greatly appreciated. I now realise that there is a vast range of wiring systems around amongst the T2 family. I have the relevant handbook and the CD from Mav but there are still gaps in the info. Suppose a lot has to do with specs for...

    Lost the plot / diagram.

Thanks SWEETY , a photo would be just the bees knees. I'll send you a PM with my email just in case you can oblige. PS. Forgot; you can get my email off my posting, I've sent the PM already anyway. I promise to improve by 2009

    Lost the plot / diagram.

Wonder if anyone can help ! The electrics box on the offside under bonnet on my motor has lost most of its markings from the cover. Difficult to relate fuses and relays to relevant circuits. Tracing cable colours etc is a pain in the proverbial. The box houses six relays and the following...

    Terrano2 blown engine

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. (Perhaps it hasn't started too well for you Pete) Sorry about your misfortune. Also sorry I can't help with your request but just wondered how come your engine "blew up". I have been told that they are almost bomb-proof. Obviously not completely. Maybe there is a lesson...

    Altenator Belt

Another alternator belt Talking about belts--I've had to let mine out one notch since Christmas dinner. Start the diet next year !! Seriously; my alternator belt is looking a bit past its best before date so I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. Thought it would be a five minute job (as...

    Water in passenger footwell

Thanks for all the help everyone. I have had the wipers and screen grid off and removed lots of rotting leaves etc; resealed the panel Jim T mentioned (the sealing was very poor) and checked all drains for sunroof and heater enclosure. Now the temp has dropped too low to do any more leak...

    T2 Exhaust replacement costs

T2 exhaust replacement cost Hi Sweety. Quick-Fit price sounds good to me at £106. I had same job done some time ago at my local garage and it was £120. Apparently it's an awkward job because of rusty turbo bolts AND the need to remove some transmission bits to wriggle it into place. (or was I...

    Water in passenger footwell

Thought I'd cured the leak which is letting water into footwell but no such luck. :( Have removed all carpeting and sound insulation in that area to get a good view. Hosepipe test shows leakage happens when water is sprayed onto screen area. Water enters at lower part of firewall where it...

    Pleasant surprise.

Hi CaptLimey----Paul. The brakelight I used was from 'ecobiodiesel' on ebay. 24Led 12volt just under£8 incl P&P. It comes with self adhesive pads and about 1.5 m of cable,of which you won't need much if you are as lucky as yours truly. They do a 36LED job too, but I am a pensioner----sob-sob :(...

    Pleasant surprise.

Was about to fit a newly aquired high level stoplamp ; pondered about route to take to get a supply from LH stoplight ; took off top taildoor trim and found a twin cable with connector. :o A bit of jiggery pokery with a multi-meter soon established that it is a stoplight circuit sitting there...
