Have the steering stops been greased at all? Those symptoms point towards it, mine made the same horrid noises when reversing onto my drive, up the kerb - a few dollops of grease and all was well. It was recommended to me to get a pair from Milners, a bit more expensive than eBay - but they will be decent ones.

So I sent my cheap eBay drop links back this morning (they looked solid enough, but looks can be deceiving) I'm going to get a pair from Milners; silly question though - will I need to get my tracking done after they've been fitted?

I've been looking for the clamp on roof bars (don't have roof rails on my SWB) but I've only managed to find the uber-expensive Mont Blanc ones;

If I hadn't of rushed into buying my new ones from eBay, I'd would of spent the extra and bought the ones from Milners. I still might return the eBay ones and get the Milners ones - not decided yet. Remember; buy once, cry once.

Front drop links will be changed then, I'm guessing it's pretty much a case of undoing a few nuts, lining the new drop link up and tightening a few nuts up?

I can replicate the sound by bouncing the front of the car. A pair of drop links is £15 delivered, they can't be that hard to change, right?
