What about the pressure to which the bottle is filled? Claimed to make a different, but not sure why. Hobbyweld - 137 bar not sure about the other one.

Hole in chassis, drivers wheel arch

Very sad tonight. Didn't buy this truck as a project, but turning into that. I'm not confident with my welding skills and tend to have people around me that don't encourage the give it a go attitude...nevertheless, can't afford to get someone to do it and would hate to see the 1500 quid going...

    My First 4x4 Project!

Bumper off - what is there left? Got the plastic bumper off and apart from the steel bumper outriggers being as expected, the rest looks good. Right side out-rigger Front of steel bumper Left side out-rigger Right side without steel bumper Center without steel bumper Left side...

    Gas Supplier

Your right Jim, misread their web site - no built in reg. Got a price for 10L ... £60.00 deposit + £31.00 fill. Sounds like the 10L is the way to go. The 20L is £95 for bottle and £68 for refill. Waiting for prices from SGS.

Gonna get me either a 10L or 20L gas bottle 95 argon/5 co. One of those rent free boyo's. We have two suppliers here. Hobbyweld or SGS. Any experience of either? I think the hobbyweld ones come with built in regulator, but have to get a converter.

    end caps??? on the cheap

Anyone got a smart idea to finish off steel braided fuel line. Started off by ordering the wrong size :doh (pipe, clips, p-clips and end-finishers), and want to stop spending money unnecessarily. £4 for 4 wee bits of plastic!!!

    Random question

what classifies as a trader in order to get a trader policy? Haven't insured my truck yet, but getting £240 from Hastings - zero NCD - non modified. (that NCD as sham anyway!! - don't get me started!!) I have 3 motors at home, but can't really call any of them specialised...

    Project Twin Axle Trailer

No, don't get me wrong...maybe trailer tests are a good thing but how much of that stuff you got taught was common sense. I mean, its obvious that a car should only pull so much, etc. I suppose there is some technical things about braked/unbraked weights and notice a discussion in the thread...

    Random question

I was thinking the other day, as you do! How do people with multiple cars insure their motors. I subscribe to car mechanic and practical classics - and people claim to have 4-5+ cars in their fleet. At £250 per car approx each for insurance (or more), surely they don't insure them...

    Project Twin Axle Trailer

that's rubbish - sounds like you have to redo your driving test - just so happens your pulling a trailer... Money making exercise if you ask me!! Where the questions even related to the trailer?

Look what I found in my utility room

I did a welding course in my local college and it was a bit rubbish. You did get the chance to practice different types (mig, arc, tig and gas), but the kits isn't the same as what you'll have yourself (their kit was thousands of pounds each) Can't help thinking the best way to learn is by...

    Best type of fuel line

Off topic slightly, as its for my vectra and not the T2. A small section of fuel line, just in behind of the front wheel arch, is starting to rust and so need to replaced. What are the options for this. I'm thinking of getting a bit of fuel line and replace section with jubilee clips, but was...
