not indication lights on key turn

I take that back. Both negative cables connected to block show 12v when check with a multi-reader... Completely confused at what would cause this. No power at all - so a low voltage battery isn't the issue, something else - relay? earth cable? Is there something I can put the meter across to...

not indication lights on key turn

just to be clear - no power is getting to anything. Read somewhere else about the negative corroding. Trace from the negative terminal, and there are two wire, a thick one and a thin one. Both connect to the engine block. When I connect to the thick one, and positive, get 12v, with the thin...

not indication lights on key turn

dead as a doe-doe. The battery is definitely giving out volts, but doesn't seems to be getting to anything. Cleaned the terminals and still the same... When you say fracture, is it visable or do you have to pull back the isolator plastic.?

not indication lights on key turn

Is there any checks I can do with a multi-meter? I don't think the car is getting power, even with low charge on the battery, would would have through the dash lights would at least come one. Battery was removed a month or two ago, and has only been reconnected today - so can't see how...

not indication lights on key turn

I think I know the answer, but just wanted to be sure before I buy a new battery. I have had the battery out of the car for a month or two. Reading between 12.3 and 12.5 sitting. When I turn the key, nothing. Guessing the battery is goosed, but is there anything else it could be? PS...

    What are these wires?

Anyone know what these wires are for? I don't think I disconnected them when I disconnected the battery. There doesn't appear to be anything that you can connect them to either.

Hole in chassis, drivers wheel arch

Just got it a couple of months ago, and has an mot up to Oct 17th 2016. Not driving it at the minute, but assume this is fixable?? Got it as a spare car, for towing. That's the worst part, and think that side of the car must have been badly hit by corrosion, for whatever reason - as the other...

Hole in chassis, drivers wheel arch

Rick, you're meant to be cheering me up!! Took a hammer to it and generally not too bad around it but the problem is where it is. There is a cross-member mount just between the holes (either side). I assume you can't really patch around the mount! You would need to cut it off, repair the...

Hole in chassis, drivers wheel arch

Thanks Jim. Its parked up. No plans to drive it until all the work is done, so no worries with that. Good point about the support for it. Wheels are still on it, but will have to take that off to sort, but will make sure its well supported on axle stands. I'm paranoid about a car falling on...
