    TYRES

I really rate the Goodyear Wrangler AT/R. I had them on my Maverick and they were great on the road, and suprisingly brilliant off-road. I took the motor to Drumclog - famous for being very boggy and only got stuck when my diff grounded out. As long as you dont press the throttle these tyres...

It wasnt you mate, it was another member in the thread about my Maverick ;) I actually took quite a lot of offence to it, as I have serious respect for the experts I know and value their opinions as they have a lot more experience in the trade than me ;) Not to worry though, just hope you can...

    petrol v's deisel

Yep its a problem indeed! There is a simple answer though... think about where I left my vehicle at Briercliffe that day when you were all ribbing me... like I told you I was playing up there at 12 years old, I aint stupid! I'll take it up there when i've prepared it properly... No way would...

Completely disagree! My garage would have taken it in, told me what is wrong with it, provide a quote to fix it and then ask if I would like them to go ahead with the repairs... But then my local garages are cowboys that apparently I should remind folk not to go near! Even though one...

    oh dear

And you were calling my local garages!!!!!! :lol Like I said, my locals do not charge for telling you what is wrong with it, just for fixing! Diagnostics is a different ball game, thats £70 a plug in but you dont need a plug in! Seems to me like your answering your own questions...

Then i'd suggest thinking long and hard about your hobby and exactly what you are using the motor you depend upon for. I'm lucky, my work is only half a mile up the road from my house so if my main motor breaks I dont have a problem. I'd also recommend in future walking or prodding with a stick...

Porbably the same way my samurai kept passing... lazy inspectors!

    found a hole

If its within a certain distance of a body mounting point then yes indeed its a failure :(

Seems to me you need a motorway cruiser AND a play toy... lot less risk that way

A cloth wont remove the bits that fall down between your valve springs and then get pumped around your engine in the oil... Good luck sorting it, hope you get sorted mate. As mentioned I now think its time for a technition to give it a proper looking at and diagnose your issue. Could save a...

And a good garage should do it free if they want the repair work afterwards... Also mate you could have cleaned the engine before taking the rocker cover off! Look at all the shite your getting into your valves! :doh

Its all down to personal preference!!!!! But being honest and i'm sorry to say it on a Nissan forum, I think the petrol and diesel Mavs/terranos are as bad as one another! If you want a Nissan 4x4 buy a patrol! :clap

    oh dear

I'm still wondering about that mate... could answer the question as to whether the engine is fubar rather quickly.... Karl - thats what happens when you let your mrs have a say on the motor you drive... thats the one place I stand my ground or else i''d not be driving the Cherry and my mrs an...

56P round my area mate, check your local industrial estate for a gas supplier rather than at petrol filling stations. I've had all three, diesel, petrol & gas. I found my petrol 4x4s much better to drive than diesels but at the cost of a few mpg. I find you dont have to drive them as hard as a...

    what do you think

As for getting rid of carcass, just ring your local scrappie and tell him there is a mav body going for free... they'll be round with the Hiab before you could make a cup of tea. Or just ring me and i'll winch it onto my trailer and take it away for you :D

    what do you think

I'd stop rushing to conclusions and get it to a proper workshop before making a decision
