My Terrano - first day off the flat stuff.

I'll try to track them down and see what I can find. I'll also see if I can find a big wheel T2 and lubricate the owner with some beer to let me have a look. They all go big tyres for going up on the glaciers. Used to be 35 were girlie wheels and 38's proper ones. Now 38's are pfffft and...

    Grabber AT2 obselete, whats next?

Well I have these Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour fitted but in 245x70x16 but they do do it in a 235 profile as well. I love them - great grip in the wet. I am not a green laner but they do fine for me on the gravel roads here in Iceland. Some pics so you can see the tread pattern - I did a...

My Terrano - first day off the flat stuff.

EVERYONE is telling me I need bigger tyres :D. I wanted to try to find a company called Fjallasport over here but they apparently went under in the crash, or at least "scaled down". They did various kits for the T2 from 33 to 38" and I wondered if they had any left. The body kits I have seen...

Graunch / knock from the front - NOT steering stops.

Well I've had a look now and the drop links look definitely shot to me - I'm guessing you shouldn't be able to see the shaft through the wishbone :( - means the lower rubber has gone completely ( I can't see underneath easily) ? Anyway I have bought some new ones - around £40 for the pair from...

    clutch?? engine light?

Peterboghorror is my home town and I wouldn't take my wheelbarrow to the MrClutch on Lincoln road. I can recommend Cartel near the post office sorting place at Werrington - used them over 20 years and fair as anything.

Graunch / knock from the front - NOT steering stops.

Just been out and done the rocking - once I got it moving :o it graunched / snapped three times in a row as it came down on the left side then stopped. I probably reseated the worn bit to a non-noisey location but it seems to fit the pattern. I will try to have a look in daylight tomorrow and...

Graunch / knock from the front - NOT steering stops.

OK - so vehicle is 2004 T2 2.7 TDi with nearly 100k km or 60k miles on it. Just when I thought I had everything sorted a knock has started to make itself heard from the front along with some other odd symptoms.. First I need to emphasise it is not the steering stops - had that, fixed it. I am...

    Fantastic Value - no regrets

Well I'm a bit of a lurker but the full monty membership has paid for itself multiple times over. The downloads section alone is worth more than the tenner. WTG chaps - really.

    Help, power steering probs

It's obviously a weak point as I've just had mine done on my 2004 2.7Tdi. Mine is a left hooker and the pipes go across the back side of the front member - steering box is LH side and pump / reservoir RH side . I have nowhere to work on mine so I took it to the dealer here in Reykjavik and...

My Terrano - first day off the flat stuff.

I've not had it long but the T2 had a taste of the rougher stuff today. Not serious but some rough tracks to try to get to some interesting geology :-)

    SLR camera digital

I've got a Canon 350D for sale - again not the latest and greatest but I ave had it since new and it has served me well. Have a wide-angle zoom and battery grip for it as well. Selling because I have just bought a 5D Mk2 :naughty  PM me if you are interested.

    Dual Mass flywheels...

Agree about those Dual Mass Flywheels. Back in the UK I had a 2007 Outlander (new style). After 15000 ish I had a noise like release bearing going on changing gear up a hill. In to dealer - "ahhh yes sir - know issue" . Replace the DMF with a fixed one on warranty......

    Lifes a funny thing....

There's not much to add to that Lac. I'm also new on here so don't know you but i know what you mean. I changed my life round two years ago and make a concious effort each day to remember how lucky I am. All I can say is you can't think ahead too much. No matter how bad events are there is...

New Terrano owner and club member in Iceland but a Brit

LOL - I have no plan to go that route yet but if I did I would probably enlist the local expertise - these guys have apparently done 38's !! http://www.fjallasport.is/modules.php?op=modload&name=Automobile&file=car_list&category=71&parent_category=60 I have tried to get hold of them but they...

New Terrano owner and club member in Iceland but a Brit

Hello to all, Just to introduce myself, I am a Brit who is going to be in Iceland for the next year and I have just bought a Terrano II 2004 2.7 TDI with 93,000 km on the clock. So far just had to do minor stuff to make me happy. I must admit I like driving it now - I wanted a 3.0 but...

    water ingress 2

Hi, may I jump in with a small hijack. I have just bought a 2004 Terrano II LHD (I am in Iceland) and the first rain I noticed water in the passenger side footwell - looks like it came from the dash area. Could you give a bit of detail about that panel to check.
