Mine was leaking as you describe Alex. To be honest I'd rather try the engine oil stop leak for the sake of a tenner. It was actually a post on this forum that led me to trying it

Chuck some engine oil stop leak in the tank. Takes about 200 miles to work cured my leaking pump. Two cans I put in.

Sorry mate I ment I had down pipe replaced for that. My system is straight through and cost me about £60 to do it myself

Had mine done cost me £80 altogether.

I'm in Lincs not that far from notts.

I use my local exhaust making place. They will sell you a length of pipe. Cut the flanges off your old exhaust weld onto staright pipe bolt in place jobs a good un.. Cheers Gav

Alex i had a leak from my pump just like yours. I chucked a couple of cans of engine oil stop leak in the tank after 200 miles the leak had stopped right or wrong it worked. Cheers Gav

My Dad bought a second hand mig the other week. Its an old machine 180amp with full size gas bottle and 5kg of wire reg etc for the grand sum of £60 from a garage owner who has just retired. There are some good deals out and about. Cheers Gav

Id just go get it tested and see what it fails on. No point trying to get around it any other way you might well be suprized might not need anything for an MOT. Cheers Gav
