He's doing the whole truck or whatever he finds plus the sliders. Fibreglass wings are ordered

£400 all in Inc the box section sliders so I think it's gonna be repaired. Then just need to source the wings as they are to far gone to mod them.

Got a lad coming to quote me on the job lot, if it doesn't work out to much more than me buying a welder and all the gear than he can have the hassle.

Yeah thought as much and is one of the reasons why I'm leaning towards keeping it. I think at 300 it'd have no exhaust or wheels as they'd make decent money 2nd hand. I'll make a start on it soon and if I do give up on it I've not lost anything

To make anywhere near what it owes me I'd be better off breaking I think tbh. Wheels and tyres where 600, exhaust was 250 a few months ago and I paid 900 for the truck a nearly year ago. What would it be worth as it stands?

If I could do it all in one hit I wouldn't be phased so much but because it's a daily and our only means of towing the horse to shows I'm limited on time. I'm yet to get the bumpers off and see what's hiding behind them. What sort of thickness sheet metal do folks use to plate/weld up?

Without removing the rear bumper I've found the rear passenger body mount area needs attention too.

And there's more..... I knew the wings where about ready but wasn't expecting this, turned to dust as soon as I touched them. Passenger is the better of the 2 Drivers I'm now actually dreading taking the bumpers off.

what tuning boxes are people using

I'm out of the market at the min as I've got a fair amount of rot to weld up :(

Front cross member 'looks' ok, I don't fancy taking the bumper off as I doubt it'll go back on lol. It's a daily and it's used to tow the horse so can't be off the road for long. Need to get myself a welder and do it between work and horse shows which makes it worse.

The more I dig the more rot I find that needs welding. Bumpers mounts pass side, note the top one missing and the bottom needs work Drivers side both need work Passenger footwear has a lovely hole (bigger now I've removed the sound deadening). Rear passenger repair from the previous...

Chris at tunit has a fully refurbished one in stock that he said he'd do me for £174 delivered, saves a few quid over the new one. I may contact that place at shefield and see what they say though. Derv doctor quoted me £300 so seems that's the ball park for remapping?

Getting tired of chasing the rot

Local fabricator guy is hopefully doing it so I'll see what he's got. They'll need to be pretty sturdy so I'm assuming they'll be simular dimension to the original sill size.

Getting tired of chasing the rot

Thankfully mines not this severe, I'll replace the sills with some box sectioned sliders which is killing 2 birds with one stone, the rest is just in silly awkward places. Once the carpets are out in the front I can crack on with it.

That's why I'm stripping carpet and trim out ready lol. If I tried to be clever and do it with it all in I'd have no truck left just a pile of ashes, just my luck :)

Both front inner arches and around the front of the cill, both rears round the cill areas. The plan is to chop the cill out and replace with box section rocksliders and patch the rest up

MOT this morning so I gave it a bath so it looked nice So it passed but not without some nice advisories. Couple of simple fixes and some welding :( Managed to get the rear carpet and trim out and I'll do the front lot on Monday in preperation. Also managed to fit the plug & play...
