    Shockers Recommendations

The company is Autodoc based in Berlin. I ordered from www.bestpartstore.co.uk and got the pair for £71.25 delivered a few months back. They had a big discount deal on at the time (38% i think) which made it a good deal with shipping and their 100 day returns option. They regularly change the...

    Shockers Recommendations

I'll check my emails tomorrow for a company name. All I can remember off the top of my head is they are based in Berlin, although I think somewhere I read they have a UK returns location based in Birmingham. Although it's late, and I've had a heck of a day finishing the terrano rebuild as well...

Front offside suspension mounts have given up....

It may have already been brought to peoples attention in the past in which case sorry in advance. It may be of use for people to check their wishbone mounts also. While prepping for welding I found the top shockers mount is sealed 3/4 to the rear of the inner bracket however the front 1/4 is...

    head lining damp patch

It may also be the roof bars leaking. Both my old and current Terrano had the same issue. Water would run down to the front screen from under the roof lining. I had thought it was the sun roof also but sealing it didn't cure either. Sealant around each of the roof bar mountings fixed my issue...

    Shockers Recommendations

Sorry, got ahead of myself on my mobile this morning. Can happen when I'm rushing to reply and my fingers aren't working as quick as my mind. Meant to have explained KYBs are mono-tube design so prevent airation you can get from standard twin-tube shocks which can affect the performance and...

I've just fitted KYB Gas-A-Just to our 52 plate Terrano 3.0 and i'm very impressed so far. Nice and sturdy. Amazing build quality too. Gas filled so no slush from the oil. Haven't done much mileage with them yet however. Took 2 of us (I'm 6ft8 and quite a strong guy and my father who's been a...

    Brake nipple threads

Hi guys, Just rebuilt the suspension and have found a few issues with the calipers. Main issue being the nipples are seized solid. Someone has previously butcher one side so it's going to be a drill and retap job but does anyone know the original thread size and pitch of the nipples? It's going...

    Starter or Ignition switch

I have a similar issue. It appears to be the ignition switch which causes the issue in my case atleast. It turns too far and drops all power to the car. With a gentle turn it should start happily. I've got to find the time to pop my column apart to look at the cause. I have a horrid feeling I'm...

Front offside suspension mounts have given up....

Thanks Rick for the quick reply. Upon further inspection it turned out to be the shit metal brackets they fit everything to the chassis with that had corroded. The actual chassis was sound so I managed to plate it up with some old school gas welding in my front garden and got it all back...

Front offside suspension mounts have given up....

Hi guys, Well on my way home tonight my steering went notchy and the truck started to steer terribly. Pulled over to check the steering and the front offside wheel was not how it should be. Turned it full lock and managed to see the upper wishbone mount sheered from the chassis. Managed to creep...

    Oil Over Filled

Daimler V8s used a pint of oil every 100 miles as standard in the 60's. Mind you, the manual also said bearings needed changing at 40k which meant a full engine out and rebuild! Could you imagine service intervals like that these days?

    Clutch irregularities

Below are pictures of the slave cylinder I used. Like stated previously its for the Nissan Urvan E24 but at £6.08 its a steal. Ebay Listing for Slave Cylinder The slave itself is identical to the original 3.0 Terrano unit. The only difference is the length of the new rubber boot and length of...

    Clutch irregularities

Thanks for the pics Banshee!!!!! As expected, the listed 3.0 master cylinder at most motor factors is infact the 2.7! Well sod paying £115+ for the 3.0 if the 2.7 will work. Strange how they used a different body for the 3.0 yet the internal bores etc are identical. Well I have the master fitted...

    Clutch irregularities

New Master cylinder coupled to clutch pedal and new bush in place Here's hoping all works well. Still interested to know if anyone else has a 3.0 Terrano with this design of master cylinder.

    Clutch irregularities

Well spent an hour sulking and then popped out to the lathe and knocked up a new bush. Reamed the pedal hole out 2 sizes and made my new bush to fit. Rather than copying the new style bush I made mine a top hat bush similar to the original plastic one. Pressed the new one in and it worked a...

    Clutch irregularities

Well today I decided to get on with my clutch. It was cut short by the heavens openning but I managed to get the master off and the clutch pedal box assembly out. The top bolt holding the pedal box to the bulk head was loose which wasn't good to start with so glad I'd had to do this now. I took...

3.0 Clutches..... What do you recommend?

Just to throw another clutch based page on the forums to annoy people!!!! Has any one had any experience with the uprated clutches available? DriveTorque Stage 1 Clutch - DriveTorque Stage 2 Clutch - DriveTorque Stage 3 Clutch The Stage 3 looks to utilize Sintered metallic clutch plates which...

    Clutch irregularities

Thanks Banshee, just your observations would help unless your keen to play photographer! LoL I have heard all the horror stories about Milner! Must say I managed to get the right bits I ordered before xmas so 100% success so far. New suspension poly bushes, bump stops etc but hard to bugger up...
