It depends where you are using the vehicle, for colder climates there is a requirement for thinner oil to compensate for viscocity. It's also not good to go too thin either.

They are noisy gearboxes anyway, even a reconditioned box I had for mine has a whine in 3rd and 5th gear. It's one of those situations where you just have to keep an eye....:doh... an ear on it and see how bad it gets or how much you have to turn up the radio. Now that you know it's there you...

It's got 12months M.O.T - I wonder if I could live with the crack right across the screen and scrap it next year?

Apparently rust at anypoint where the windscreen is bonded, can cause the screen to crack. :eek: The problem is getting a good butchers at it and having some time to sort it out whilst the windscreens out. I don't think Mr Autoglass is going to be happy to sit about whilst I get the tools out...

Hmmm this does not sound good at all :eek::eek::eek::eek: There is a hold ( tin worm ) in the pannel under the area about 6 inches away about 3" in diameter but the metal between this hole and the windscreen is intact.
