I have now joined the Essex 4x4 response group (Essex Rover Response). :clap. It turned out to be fairly simple, and with only 37 current members spread all over Essex they seemed quite keen to have me.
However somewhere along the way I seem to have become a member of the Essex L-R Club...
This looks really good. Thanks for the info. You mentioned getting more, for the car etc. Will they all be covered on the one tracking software licence or will you need to pay E20 for each one?
Nissan engineers spent years desiging the flat surfaces out of the Y60 to make the all curved Y61.
Australian ARB engineer spends a couple of hours designing the strongest bumper ever, and puts back enough flat surfaces to hold a tea party. :lol :clap :thumbs
I am coming to the conclusion that the head needs to be rotatable. Forward for normal use and backwards when off road or in heavy rain or dust. :thumb2
I don't like the look of the upside down flower pot, but that may be as it is often on a l-r. :lol
I will take a closer look, the 700 was just from memory. :thumb2
One thing I have noticed is that on my auto, the higher revs from the switch stay constant. With my previous manuals, the revs drop back to normal as soon as you put it in gear.

First you buy a 'troll, then you get a free button that increase the idle from about 700 to about 1200. Great on cold mornings and as Russell said, when giving a jump start. :thumb2:D:clap

On another thread there is a discussion about the 4x4 Response groups. Apparently to join one of these you need to get your insurance changed to include working as part of one of these teams. Anyone know if this a "standard" extra or is it something complicated? :nenau

I have just looked on the Essex Rover Recovery site and to be a member you have to be a member of the Essex Landrover Club. However it does mention that not all Rescue members have L-R's and that some members do have "other 4x4's". :sly
I think I will apply and see how far I can get.

This is the web site of the overall group. You will need to look at the map on this site and then contact the person in charge of your area. Their emails are all listed on the site.
In Essex, it is called the Essex Rover Rescue and guess what - they all have L-rs. I will be contacting them soon...
I have had a Dart Tag account for years now, it has always been cheaper that paying at the toll booth. I just had to remember to make sure the car I was using had one of my 2 tags in it.
I have just changed this over to the Dart Charge scheme, which is easier as you just register all the cars...
Welcome to the forum. I am only new here myself, but the help and (most of) the suggestions are excellent. :augie
The Terrano's outnumber the others by a long way, but more 'trols, Pathfinders and Navara's will help to even it up. :thumbs
