With regard to the Crank Sensor, take it out and clean it regardless, clutch dust and or starter pinion bearing dust will stick to it as its magnetic and can cause problems especially at low rpm's...
Hmm we dont seem to be getting any closer to identifying the problem!
Ground test - best if there is load on the system. Reconnect the ECU, reconnect the battery and identify the relevant ground wires on the multiplug with one test lead. Extend the other to the battery -ve make a good...
Can I suggest that for continuity checks on the wiring PLEASE DISCONNECT the multiplug from the ecu. Leave the battery also disconnected.
Last thing we want is the ecu damaged.
If you can rig up a test lamp then all the better. Multimeters only pass afew mA and that will not show up a poor...
Search for knackered Navara. Same engine, same problems.
Timing chain and guides are just the start of it sadly. All fixable if you catch it in time.
£1000 would be the *very* lowest price say if you drove in with a perfectly healthy sounding engine and had the upgrade work without a new...
Check the ground connection back to the battery -ve. You'll need one long test lead and you should do this with the ignition on i.e. with the system under load. Often a poorly earthed ECU is the culprit...
To disconnect the ecu's multiplug, I would disconnect the battery first. Just to be...
I'd add that the BP switch is a normally closed flavour, it opens on pressing the brake, so any break in the cable or a non-connected plug, will cause a no-rev. i.e. it fails safe.
0.9v on the ground connection is too high also.
Rayf will have to confirm this, but as i understand it, Nissan never used the OBDII protocol on any terrano, even the 2007 ones(?), only consult, so no it wont work.....
This was half the reason why I abandoned the nissan ecu.
Can you confirm that the Idle switch switches on and off on the screen as you touch the pedal and then release. It must do this every time.
Also the Brake pedal switch. You should be able to see this in consult also, if you enable the right gauge.
I'd then want to verify the 5v feed at the...
I would add that the Nissan "conzult" only fits trucks upto circa 1999. I.e. Those pre-16pin OBDII socket.
After then you'll need to jumper pins or make your own adapter to go from 16 to 14 pins....
Right.
Obviously your idle switch is dicking around, by the looks watching the video. When the idle switch is closed, the ecu will not allow the engine to rev. It should open the moment you press the pedal. If you have changed the pedal assembly, is there a problem with the multiplug, or...
