Not saying its right or not, but I would start with the 10w40, you cant really go too wrong with that and semi synthetic I'm sure would be fine.

These engines must be kept from overheating with having an aluminium head, and the cooling system does tend to need to have to be flushed out. That's what happened to mine, probably the start of my problems when I first bought it, everything seemed fine, but when pressure tested it was about...

Get a TurboSmart turbo bleed valve manual boost controller and you can safely up the boost and adjust the fuel to suite. More power :D

Hi Are you sure its the higher boost reading for the y60 2.8, or is that for the y61 as they are slightly different as you know. I'm sure mine was around 13psi standard. Also I think you are right, exhaust will be making that spool difference as the standard is a huge restriction.

If you don't go down you can fire round my way and head up to Tixover. Either drive too or park at mine and drive up in the Patrol. Could even do some lanes on the way up. :sly

Glad you found the problem. I would still want the full rebuild kit for both sides. Terrain Tamer as I said is about the best out there by all accounts.

Am I right in saying there is an entire kit for these, both inner and outer. I think Neil just done his didn't he. He might have some ideas. Might have to get the whole kit for both sides. Terrain Tamer are supposed to be top marks and might be on the shelf from West Coast Offroad...
