    This passed by today

Nice! Our street is one of the designated roads for "special" transports. We see at least 2 or 3 of those transports per night, mainly now with wind turbine parts. Every turbine needs at least 7 transports: 1 for each blade, 1 for the nacelle, and 3 or 4 for the pylon. Also already seen ocean...

Car Insurance During Red Alert Weather

The only proper answer here should be: check your insurance small print... With our car insurance (full cover, on the family car, one of the larger insurance companies in Belgium) we are not insured when participating in motor sport events, when drunk, when offroad, or when speeding. Makes...

    Wiper spindle bushes

A car made from zip ties would be the thing, completely rustproof and indestructible :)

    Wiper spindle bushes

The linkage on my T2 has been held together with zip ties for the past 1,5 years - no issues since, and that in rainy Belgium :)

    Brake pipe and fittings

Cunifer on mine, no idea about the fittings. Probably not stainless steel, for the I paid. I had them made for me at the local motor factors, took the old ones as template.

the state of our roads today

Not only UK though - we have our Seat Leon on 18" wheel now for 2 years, and all 4 wheel rims are nicked from potholes. Have to realign the car at least once a year...

    Nasty, Dirty, Theiving Scum...

Sorry to hear all this... Thefts from houses of deceased people are a big thing here in Belgium - criminals actually scout the papers for funeral announcements, and then systematically visit the houses of all family members during the funeral...

Help can't source parts for my 2.7 terrano anywhere

If you go to a dealer, make sure you have the correct part nrs - they have messed up before ;). And have an idea about what you'd pay online for the parts.

    What’s Everyone Up To?

Well, well - snow is my friend. Just got a new invite, for a second day of boar hunting. Lots of old people can't stand the cold, and declared themselves sick :)

    What’s Everyone Up To?

Weekends like these don't happen very often, Rick :) Got an invitation for the driven boar very last moment, two weeks ago. And Rome, yes, pennies fly very fast. No idea about the 7 mile market, Mrs spent (a lot of!) time on Via del Corso, all the main fashion things are there. Fun to see where...

    What’s Everyone Up To?

Past 4 days visiting friends and Mrs perelaar shopping in Rome. Now a few days in the office, and then a full weekend shooting. Saturday driven boar and deer, in the snow (I foresee lots of work for the T2!), Sunday rough shooting for pheasants and duck on our own small shoot. Hopefully the...

    Uneven rear brakes

Had this exact same issue, turned out to be a leaking axle oil seal. It was obvious though, brake shoes and inside of the drum on that side were looking dirty and moist. If no oil leaking anywhere, first thing coming to mind would be an air bubble in the brake line to the underperforming side?
