OK, so after a lot of swearing I get the master cylinder off. At a guess it is knackered. It sticks, and so far can't get the piston out at all - like the internal spring is compressed & fcuk'd. The piston should slide right once you have the circlip out, but currently not a chance. Might be...

Ok, so managed to run my clutch reservoir dry :-( Topped it up, bled it With assistance I bled the too, then slave. Didn't do the balance thingy pipe - the block the bleed nipple is in now "free floats" and is pretty old so don't want to break it.... Anyways... All good, pedal up high & all...

Thanks for responding. Changed the battery connectors earlier this year as the old ones had fallen to bits. I'll check the cables just to be sure. Oooof. Well, living in Valencia it is pretty bone dry most of the year :-) But yes the starter motor is a likely suspect.

Hmmm - so it starts to gets cool and seems the battery like it is going with the engine struggling to turn over. So change the battery for a new one and..... it still seems to struggle turning over. So on the basis it isn't the battery, any bright ideas? I know the power steering pump...

Ooohhh errr missus...... It'll need drilling, and that isn't easy to do with the exhaust in place. Anyways, much quieter with a new mount and just one bolt. Old one let it flap around like the proverbial shithouse door!!
