Terrano 2 for sale in Banbury

Just to make sure there is no confusion, this is not one of my cars and I have no connection to the selling dealer. This appears to be one of the higher spec Terrano's on a W plate as it has the leather interior, glass sunroof and headlamp washers, although the drivers side one is broken, and...

(Not) Charging caravan battery while towing.

Hello to everyone out there, Just came across a bit of an oddity on our 2006 Elddis Knightsbridge (Avante clone) which we purchased earlier this year. We have used it quite a bit over the time we have had it but never realised until yesterday that the on board battery is not recharged whilst...

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question.

Thanks Rick Does anyone have a pair for sale? Also knowing that the Japanese manufacturers of 4wd vehicles tended to use the same hub pcd for the road wheels, would fwh's from the likes of an Isuzu Trooper or Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero etc fit? Cheers Steve

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question.

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question, Ok I should have searched for this before, but having now read the sticky on hubs the question changes to, can I retro fit either manual or auto locks without having to change the hubs? Cheers Steve

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question.

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question, last bit. Following removal of this the hub spun freely, but the ammount of drag when refited was considearble. Also worthy of note is that this assembly had a snap ring in the outer driveshaft groove holding it in place, but no snap ring...

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question.

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question, part 3 What I thought would be the locking portion of the system appears to have no moving parts, just a set of splines in the middle.

To freewheel or not to freewheel, that is the question.

I have a Terrano 2 on a Y plate and on checking the front disc pads recently noticed that when I rotated the hub in either direction the drive shaft also rotated, and when I gripped the driveshaft to stop it rotating I could not rotate the hub. I downloaded the freewheel hub service guide...

    Manual gearbox oil

I want to change the oil in the gearbox's on both our Terrano's. What is the best way of flushing out the remnants of the old oil once it has been drained? I'm thinking a short couple of dozen yards or so drive with a gallon of parafin sloshing about in the box, draining that and then filling...

    Aircon fan

Does anyone know the layout of the harness to the fan in front of the aircon condensor? Mine has stopped working and the workshop manual is not very clear on which fuse/relay turns this fan on when aircon is on. Cheers Steve

    Spring assisters

As we do a lot of caravan towing with either of our two LWB Terrano's one thing we have noticed is a tendancy with the loadout we have (Awning and Poles along with anexe and it's poles behind the front seats along with ground sheets for both, two folding bikes behind the back seat and the...

    Continental breakdown cover

Ok quick update. As suggested we went to A plan brokers. We have dealt with them in our town for many years. They arranged cover for my Y plate Terrano with the caravan included for both the UK and Europe for £115 for the year. Uk cover being the equivalent of the RAC's Arrival scheme.

    Continental breakdown cover

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience of breakdown cover for the continent (France). Just had a quote from RAC and although we have been members for nearly 30 years and less than ten call outs in that time, they still want over £10 per day for cover on my 1998 Y plate Terrano and caravan...

    Mid and rear power sockets

Job's a good 'un Quick update on this. Having printed off the relevant pages of the manual, then taken off the footwell trim and under dash on the drivers side of the car The relay that the manual shows was nowhere to be seen. However, at the bottom of the door pillar there is a large bundle of...

    Mid and rear power sockets

I have just had a small embarasment with one of our Terranos'. Wife and I took the newer of the two (54 plate) on holiday. During the overnight stop I left our camping fridge plugged into the rear power socket, resulting in a flat battery in the morning. Now when we have done the same with the...
