O/S Headlamp Fault

Hello , my Drivers side headlamp has stopped working -changed the bulb changed the fuse still dont work on dip or main beam BUT works on the headlamp flasher ???? cant see any bad wires spots are wired to that one using the main beam wire as a feed to the relay so as not to overload the wiring and they all work when using the headlamp flash any ideas????

Had identical problem with mine and tried everything to sort it.
In the end it turned out to be the lightstlalk. I found out that if you try and turn it a bit further than the headlight on position the troublesome headlamp lit. I gave the light stalk innards a liberal dose of WD and bingo problem solved. Maybe, just maybe this might help you.

I think Rick1956 is right there are separate contacts in the switch, if you remove the surround around the switches at the base of the steering wheel you can either remove the combination switch that is only clipped in, or you can try cleaning the contacts in place.

Try some Serisol Switch cleaner, readily available at rallies Waterman.

Thanks for the replies.
I did as you all said and took off the switch and stripped it down and teh contacts had a dirty film on them so cleaned them up with fine emery paper took the switch cleaner to them and gave them a coat of vaseline and reassembled and they seem to be working fine now.

PS any body know how to remove the heater blower switch from a 2002 terrano ???? cos it has teh same prob on no 4 setting

Hi Denny, it's not the blower switch it sounds more like the resistor which is located in the heater box behind the glove box. Have a look in the workshops as there is something about em in there. Also have a look back in the forums as Toolbox had same problem a few weeks ago and found a cheap fix for them.
