satellite dish in a box kit

We always state 3-5 days for battery health, assuming all powered units will be used. This ensures the battery does not fall below 60%, after which damage occurs if regularly dropping this low. Just saves me buying batteries every year!

    Invertor Efficiency

You are going to love this! Don't buy a camping tv - pick up £100 supermarket LCD. They run 12 volts anyway, and would in threory run straight on the mains. BUT! They are susceptible to spikes - therefore, replace the 240 supply lead and power box with an Amperor Voltage Regulator. This will...

    Charging leisure battery from car

The battery won't take a whole lot of charge when travelling due to the other electrics dragging the excess alternator charge down. These will mostly be the fridge, which will be 12v when travelling, and also the lights. With none of that running, it would receive the charge. Would be easy just...

    Newbie!

No probs! Mainly the 160/260 series (mk/mq) which I have rebuilt many from the ground up. I MAY have plenty of spares too, for a while anyway as I will be having a weigh in when we move!

    Noisy back end

I am about to do the same with the van - Half shaft bearing kit from milners is £31/side. Wheel off, drum off, brake shoes off, four bolts off and slide the half shaft out, replace bearing (may need heat), put you new inner and outer seals on, slap back together and then fill the oil on the...

    Spin out!!! LSD issues

One tyre I can recommend is the Maxxis - quiet, hardwearing and good in ALL conditions. The Patrol had the Bravo a/t - which I never got stuck with, whatever the conditions - quiet on road, and handle corners well - the patrol would corner at 70 without a squeal. The terrano has Trepadors -...

    Maverick Exhaust Problems

Online Automotive are very fast on delivery! I ordered a pug exhaust for my wife's old van at 4.30pm......i was gobsmacked when it all arrived at 8am the following morning! But the bolts they supply are cheap as!

satellite dish in a box kit

The sky dish kits come with a wall mount, and a sucker type mount - to mount on any smooth surface. Commonly, people use the collapsible camping washing line tripods to save of space, or you can just take a ground spike and mount on there. Regarding solar panels, make sure the panel you buy has...

    Newbie!

Yeah, dualled straight past - nice and quiet now. Geographically it is quite well positioned being close to St Austell, Bodmin and Plymouth which are all 20 minutes or so. More of a trek for the west of Cornwall (i cover the whole county for the electronics) Viewing one sunday - see how it...

17" alloys to fit a Partol!!

They HAVE to be patrol wheels due to the hub size - no other 4x4 has hubs that size, so they were always special order! Have a nose around on Ebay - I had 16's with huge tyres, which were fine - took it up quite a bit too!

    Battey Terminal

If they crack, you are over-tightening them! When you crank over, the power going through will heat it, expand it and crack it. Tighten just enough so that is doesn't move. Universal ones can be sought from most factors for a few pounds.

    Newbie!

At the moment, St Awful - but we are on the move soon! Either be around the same area, or looking at Dobwalls - seems quiet there now! Depends what house I can find that has parking for erm...several vehicles!

thinking of getting one of these for the mrs!

The Musso was a pig in N/A form, really slow - and parts quite shocking, price wise! I had one on the sales years ago - nice to drive, apart from that! As comfy as a range rover. The later (and rare) turbo model is the one to go for. Merc 4x4 are prone to electrical faults - badly, this is...

    Help needed

Sounds like it is flashing you up a fault code. They will start and end with 12,12,12. it will then give you the fault code (ie 23,23,23) and then end in 12,12,12. The later Terranos have the NATS system, each time you turn on, the stereo retreives its' code from the ecu. It may be related in...

    Please identify my vehicle

An F Plate will be a Y260 MQ running a 2.8 turbo. It will be leaf sprung all round, whereas the later were coil front. The stereo will be between the seats and the rear tailgate will split horizontally - glass top, door bottom. The lights with be square, with a plain black rectangular grill -...

    car? alloys onto a caravan

With wheel trims, you need to make sure the edge of the trim does NOT go past the edge of the wheelrim. You must have it slightly shy of the rim edge. The reason for this is to stop the trim cutting the tyre wall during cornering/bouncing as you travel - especially tight turns! Here the tyre...

I do Motorhome Hire in Cornwall, so if you fancy a holiday in the UK or Europe I can help you out there! If you fancy owning one, can help you out there too as we do a thing called 'motorhomeshare' where you can shared ownership, have a newer vehicle rather than some old crock and have no...
