    Mahoosive diesel leak !!

Aye, might not want to use copper if you are running veg oil (dunno about bio). Veg oil goes green when in contact with copper for any length of time, although I suppose the fuel lines don't tend to have fuel sitting in them for much time.

Tin worm - again. Bump stops and second skin.

Cheers for that - thought it was a pointless bit of metal, well until I bend the chassis and/or the axle one day! (Would have to be on hell of a bump to do that though I'd have thought. Firebobby, it isn't your old one is it? I bought it off Pete how previously sourced it from someone on here...

Tin worm - again. Bump stops and second skin.

So, actually emptied everything out and hoovered (yes that strange sucky thing!) the insides as I had to carry 6 adults to the airport last week. In doing all that I lifted up the carpet - oh dear, why oh why did I do that! Seems the double skin section is rotting away nicely so a repair or...

    Consult II Cable & ECUTalk

Banshee, have you got a list of parts for us 16 pinners that have Consult 1 ECU's? Pretty certain pin 7 is empty on mine (that is the top row isn't it?) Cheers!

    R20 T2 / No.1 injector help required Pls

My early T2 had a mini filter too - way I understood it, in the early days the main fuel filter was paper based and if left in too long could potentially start to break down. The mini filter is there to catch bits of the main filter. Seemed an odd explanation but mine did go WAY better after I...

Feeling Pleased With My Self Today

Well done, DoE is a great thing. I'm curious, how long does it take to become a full assessor/leader for DoE? Our scout group is planning to get a couple of leaders DoE trained to push the Explorers a bit more. (Fairly sure it'll push the leaders more than the kids). I'm a cub leader myself and...

    Interior Light: Door Open

I assume you mean that the main switch will turn the light on or off, but it never illuminates the car in the 'door' position? If so, that's exactly what mine does - I suspect the timer unit mounted directly above the fuse box as this contols the dimming of the lights after a door is closed...

    Planks Books

I sincerely hope he does get the last one finished, they were indeed a good read and I would love to buy the third. I never had the good luck to meet Chris but I did get some good help from him on here. A sad, sad loss. Iain, yes that was indeed his pen name.

    thinning veg oil with?

I agree, it's totally up to the owner as to whether they want to 'risk it' with fuels other than straight pump diesel. Remember that pump diesel used to need a winteriser adding, indeed many early diesel cars recommended up to 20% petrol to a tank of diesel in deep winter to stop waxing. Better...

    light buzzer

Very interested in how easy it is to swap a TCU out as mine has dodgy central locking and recently lost interior lights too. The lights do work, but only when manually switched. Door left open warning light on dash works as expected when any door is open, so the switches are all good. I need to...

    Meeting up

Might be up for something, Edinburgh based myself, although I do use her daily to get to work, so have always been a bit wary of breaking stuff! Forestry tracks are probably not too bad, whereabouts are they?

    egr question

Was there not a post AGES ago about the diesel Primera having the same MAF, but usually at a much lower cost? Or has my memory short circuited again?

    Unfinished project for sale

That motor may confuse the new 'driverless' cars that have recently been allowed to plan testing on our roads!

    Speeding loophole

Is that a current story? The dates at the end refer to 2000 and 2001. Not that I condone speeding, especially in a T2 with muds on, but I do think there is too much reliance on cameras.

    anti freeze

If you raise the front of the vehicle while it's ticking over, that helps get more air out.

    Potential Newbie

wrt to veg - have a look at another thread running right now - most of the details are there, but basically, lob it in and go if it's a 2.7. If you get a 3.0 then strictly diesel only. Rust is normally found where metal once was! Main areas to concentrate on (although all fixable with a...

    Is now the time?

Each to their own, personally I do enough miles that the savings make the risks worth taking, plus it's only a second car for us, so I can manage a day or two without her if needed. So far, not had any issues in the past few years with veg in the tank, and the % petrol and or diesel I've lobbed...

    Drop-in sat-nav'

I believe that later models were fitted with a standard DIN stereo and the fascia plate instead of the custom cassette player - I have the CD changer under my seat, so it's not all bad, but I also have a Chinese crap single din stereo with a wee screen on that I used to have connected to a rear...

    Drop-in sat-nav'

Trouble is, the rest of the Patrol to go around it costs more! Looking to fit a standard single din radio to my new T2 and of course it needs a panel making up, or the 'pukka' thing that Nissan did - don't want to make a tit of the truck by creating a hideous filler panel, but equally, don't...

    Is now the time?

2500L per rolling year is for new oil as well as reclaimed. To the excise man, oil, is oil, they don't care where it came from. Clean oil is the simplest and does save a bit, if you start using 20L plastic 'cubies' from the likes of Makro, the containers are VERY weak and so make pouring into...
