    Sqweaky window wipers.

Thanks Steve I havent seen the unit so your probably right - silly me. The nearside arm seem to be lower and looser than the rest so Im thinking it is either the motor housing has loosened or something else has loosened. Regards Lee:thumb2

    Sqweaky window wipers.

I have oiled and greased it as above and whilst the noise has minimised it is still there - challenging me to kick its a*"se. The nearside motor has dropped slightly in its housing and must be rubbing on something. Anyone know how to remove the cover just below the windscreen to access the...

    Sqweaky window wipers.

Anyone had this happen to them?? My window wipers make such a squeal when they are turned on that I am demented when driving in the rain. i thought it needed new blades, which were fitted today with no effect. I have traced the problem to the nearside wiper arm motor. I think it has loosened on...

Why would you buy a motorhome?

A motorhome gives a safer drive as there is no risk of snaking. Even if the MH is towinf a car, the weight ration is such that the chance of a snake is low. A MH is good if you like day trips out in it. Bro in law would not have a caravan near him since this is all he would want from a MH. If...

smoky deisel resulting in soot on the caravan

Hi All I have had a problem with soot from the exhaust dirtying the front of the caravan when towing. I found the quote below on another internet forum from a well respected person (who has now sadly passed away). I hope that it helps if any of you are having this problem. Also if you have...

    Winter deisel in summer

Getting back on thread. I posted the original question on a different forum. The answer that came back was that winter deisel has an additive in it to prevent waxing. It is not a different fraction (that i thought it was) so removing it in summer is just a cost cutting exercise and burning...

    Winter deisel in summer

I dont know the answer to this but as well as burn temp you need to get a figure for burn rate. A lower temp but may burn for longer for a given amount. Regards Lee

    towing weights

I think it is because alot of auto boxes can overheat when under load so the manufacturers set their limit lower. I have never done this but you can fit auxiliary cooling units to reduce the heat and maybe increase your towing limit (but do this on your own head). Regards Lee

    Winter deisel in summer

I was thinking that if it burns cleaner then i could put a small amount in the tank in summer to help clean burning and reduce exhaust smoke. Not sure if it would work but if i would be willing to try out the theory if it was not harmful for the car. It would not cost anything rather than paying...

    Winter deisel in summer

I am no expert but i have been told that the deisel at the pump is automatically changed according to the season. This is to prevent it waxing, though i stand to be corrected. I think that it is not talked about because it is done automatically - most folk are not aware it is even done...

    caravan spare wheel needed help!!

You will get the tyre you need at a good local independent tyre fitters. They should stock all tyres needed from car to tractor tyres. On the subject of tyre puncture repair, i have heard of mixed reviews. Some vanners swear by it and some hate it. They will probably get you home but i would...

    Winter deisel in summer

Hi All deisel changes in this country depending on the season (so im told). If i were to add a small bit of winter deisel to the tank in the summer time, would this result in less smoke and acleaner burn???? Or would it wreck the engine??? Only a thought - dont knwo if it is feasible or not...

    screeeeeech on turning

I got a screech on full or near full lock with my last car. It needed the power steering fluid changed (i think - that is what i was told not being technically minded). Whatever they did it sorted it out - no more screeching. Regards Lee
