Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

I hope so too, will find out tomorrow when I take it out. Will dry ff around the injector first and see what it looks like when I get home.

Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

I found one pipe very loose and another with a plug on it to have split. I managed to cut this cleanly and was able to re-use it and have held it on with a cable tie. Will keep my eye on it. Incidentally, the oil filters on these are a pain to get to aren't they? I couldn't get my cheapy strap...

Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

Thanks chaps, I'll look into that more tomorrow. Will check the workshop manual to see if there's a diagram of the leak off pipes, where they do etc so I know what I'm looking for. Will just pop the pants in the washing machine and grab a beer now.

Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

Just checked the fluids and all seem okay. I took some more pictures and was looking in from the top of the engine with a torch. Not thrilled at what I saw, but it might have identified the problem. The oil wasn't particularly smelly, but this is quite possibly vegetable oil. Despite my lack...

Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

Yeah, pretty clear stuff. Although the engine oil's now pretty clear too, but this was taken before me changing that oil. My phone's knackered so died after taking two photos, can try and get some better ones with my digital camera once the batteries have charged up.

Uh oh, I think this is a bad thing!!!!

I was goign to do an oil change today and repair the heater blower resistor, so had all my oil all ready to go. Just before I pulled onto the drive yesterday I heard a loud bang from underneath the car. I had a quick look underneath, just to ensure I hadn't squashed a cyclist or lollipop lady...

    Identifying Stereo wires with Multimeter

I agree, although when I bought an ISO harness for the Fabia all the cables were just straight through. I had to switch two wires for the power, but the wires for lights and some others also needed switching.

    Identifying Stereo wires with Multimeter

Hi, I saw a few posts about replacing the stereo with a few people confused about what wires were to go where. I found this a while ago and it's been very helpful for me, wondered if it might help some people here. Can't remember where I found it now though. I should probably link to where it...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Okay, when I have time I'll get the Banjo bolt out again and try to remove the innards and chuck them away to prevent any future issues. Unless it's better to replace it woth a new bolt. I'll have a look in the fuel tank. Someone told me i'd need to drop the tank, but in fairness I haven't...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Took out the Banjo today after following the workshop guide here. Found my banjo bolt seems to have a hollow shaft with the gauze inside it rather than a spring and filter. Unless I've just taken out the wrong piece  I gave it a good soak in some white spirit. I'm still getting some...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Had a bit of noise from the front wheels when turning the past few days. Went to have a look and the rubber arch liner was loose and getting ripped up by the wheels. I've taken the offending article out now and can see most of the front panels are held on with cable ties. The metal behind the...

    Veg oil

The cheapest place to get Veg oil is probably a wholesaler. I get 20ltr of KTC oil for £15.49 at Makro. You can mix any ratio you like with dino diesel to help reduce the viscosity, if you intend to blend it with petrol the amount can vary between 5-20%, so worth experimenting. The petrol again...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Nope, but I will get back under there and take a look. Everything is covered in crud so it's hard to make out what's metal, plastic or horse dung. I think I found 3 connectors, one with two cables and two with one black cable. They were covered in crud and hard to get apart. I haven't got...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Well, I've taken the reverse light connector apart on the gearbox, cleaned it with contacts cleaner and put it back together, but still nothing. I think I'll need to get the multimeter out and have a proper prod when I find the time. Not able to get a decent radio signal either. It looks like...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Thanks, will have a look. Given the contacts and wires in the light loom are all fine I figured there much be a fault in a switch or wire further up, just not sure where everything is yet. I've got the workshop info so will take a look.

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

The Salomon model has tinted glass in the rear, aircon, electric window, electric Mirrors and a leather interior. Not sure whether that differs from other models. It's supposed to be black over silver. Clearly the last owner had a few salvaged parts including the offside headlight surround and...

Just got a Terrano Salomon 2.7TDi

Hello folks, I've long been a member of the vegetable oil Diesel Forums and have now bought myself a Terrano II to run on the stuff. It's a bit scruffy and the electricals have all been hacked about, but it runs and is a good vehicle to play with. Had some fun when picking it up as the fuel...
